I usually use fabric for fan art projects, but this time I wanted to change materials and I'm using glitter foam.
Foam is a wonderful material for crafting, and you can create a variety of projects with it, from the simplest to the most elaborate. It's versatile, easy to use, and with proper care, it can last for many years. It also has the added benefit of being easy to clean with a damp cloth when dust accumulates, keeping your decorations looking fresh.
Fabric is one of my favorite materials to work with. It has many advantages, including durability, washability, and the wide variety of projects you can make with it: dolls, trees, pot holders, cloths, fruit, and countless other items to decorate the kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, and even beautiful curtains. Both materials are very versatile, but as I mentioned before, I usually use fabric for most of my projects.
I usually use foam sheets with my son for school projects. This belt is worn by the character **Qid Yuff**, The buckle is trapezoidal and green with gold edges. At the bottom, there's a sort of brown hair effect, and the belt itself is red. To make it look more like the character, I placed black foam behind the brown piece, creating a shadow effect along the edges. It's a simple project and will be used to decorate a small farm. Several will be made to hang on the fence posts. I invite you to join me in the process.
Saludos amigos artesanos y comunidad @Hivediy, deseo que tengan un excelente y bendecido fin de semana, en esta ocasión les comparto la elaboración de un cinturón inspirado en los personajes de Splinterlands, regularmente para los proyectos de fan art, utilizo tela, pero en esta ocasión quise cambiar de material y estoy utilizando foami escarchado.
El foami es un material muy noble para trabajar manualidades y con el se pueden elaborar diferentes proyectos desde los más sencillos hasta proyectos grandes, es versátil, fácil de utilizar y con cuidado puede durar muchos años, además tiene la particularidad que se puede limpiar con un paño húmedo cuando les cae polvo y así mantener los adornos limpios.
La tela es uno de mis materiales favoritos para trabajar, tiene muchas ventajas, entre ellas durabilidad, se puede lavar y los proyectos que se hacen con tela son también muy variados; muñecos árboles, agarradores de ollas, paños, frutas y así muchos proyectos para decorar la cocina, el baño, la sala, la habitación, también hermosas cortinas, ambos materiales son muy versátiles para trabajar, pero en la mayoría de mis proyectos, como lo mencioné anteriormente, acostumbro a usar tela.
El foami generalmente, lo empleó con mi hijo en las actividades que le mandan del colegio, este cinturón lo lleva el personaje **Qid Yuff**, la hebilla tiene forma de trapecio y es de color verde, con los bordes dorados, en la parte de abajo una especie de cabello, color marrón y el cinturón es de color rojo, para darle un efecto más parecido al del personaje, coloqué detrás de la pieza marrón foami negro, así los bordes tienen un efecto de sombra, es un proyecto sencillo de hacer y será usado para decorar una pequeña granja, se harán varios, para colocarlos en los postes de la cerca, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

The first step in this project is to mark the pieces. For this, I usually use a height-adjustable toothpick, which is ideal when working with this material because it doesn't leave marks, and when you run the tip along the foam, it leaves a small indentation that's very helpful when cutting.

El primer paso para este proyecto, es marcar las piezas, para ello acostumbro a usar el palillo de altura, que es ideal, cuando trabajamos con este material porque no deja mancha y al pasar la punta por el foami, deja una pequeña hendidura que ayuda mucho al momento de cortar.
With all the pieces marked, the next step was cutting: the brown piece, the two red ribbons for the belt, three gold strips for the edges of the rhombus, and a small oval that goes in the center and forms the buckle.
Marcadas todas las piezas, el siguiente paso fue cortar; la pieza de color marrón, las dos cintas rojas para el cinturón, tres tiras doradas para los bordes del rombo y un pequeño óvalo que va en el centro y forma la hebilla.
Once all the pieces were cut, the next step was to assemble. I started with the rhombus or buckle, measured the edges of the rhombus, and cut four strips that would go on its edge. I glued the first strip, then the next one until I covered the entire outline. I also added the center piece, using several dots of hot silicone for this.
Cortadas todas las piezas, el siguiente paso fue ensamblar, inicié con el rombo o hebilla, medí los bordes del rombo y corté cuatro tiras que irán en el borde de este, pegué la primera tira, luego la siguiente hasta cubrir todo el contorno, también añadí la pieza del centro, utilizando para ello varios puntos de silicón caliente.
With the buckle ready, the next step was to glue the brown piece onto black foam. I placed it on top, added several dots of silicone, and cut the piece approximately 0.5 cm larger to create a shadow effect. I liked the result because it gives the piece a realistic look.
Con la hebilla lista, el siguiente paso fue pegar la pieza de color marrón en foami negro, la coloqué encima agregué varios puntos de silicón y corté la pieza aproximadamente 0.5 cm más grande, para crear un efecto de sombra, el resultado me gustó pues le da un estilo realista a esta pieza.
Now that the pieces were assembled, all that remained was to put together the belt. I joined the two red strips that would form the belt in the center, added silicone, and then glued the brown piece to the center of the belt, applying enough silicone. I joined both pieces at the point where the two red strips met, attached the buckle, added silicone, pressed lightly, and let it dry.
Finally, I added a dab of silicone to the back of the belt, and with these simple steps, a cute belt inspired by the Splinterlands characters is finished, perfect for decorating a small farm.
Ya con las piezas ensambladas, solo queda armar el cinturón, uní en el centro las dos tiras de color rojo que formarán el cinturón, agregué silicón luego pegué la pieza de color marrón en el centro del cinturón, colocando suficiente silicón, uní ambas piezas en el punto donde coinciden las dos tiras rojas, coloqué la hebilla, agregué silicón presioné un poco y dejé secar.
Para finalizar, coloqué un punto de silicón en la parte trasera del cinturón, y así con estos sencillos pasos está terminado un lindo cinturón inspirado en los personajes Splinterlands, que servirá de decoración para una pequeña granja.
Projects with foam are really easy to make. I liked this belt because of the color combination, which looks great and each color stands out. I think the glitter on the foam adds even more sparkle and vibrancy.
Los proyectos con foami son realmente sencillos de hacer, me gustó este cinturón por la combinación de colores que se ven muy bien y cada uno resalta, creo que la escarcha del foami le agrega más brillo y vistosidad.
