What I would do with $1000💸

Would you invest, save, spend, donate, or start a business? Why would you choose that option, and what long-term impact would it have on your life?

Last year, I decided I should aim to earn my first $1,000 through my online work. I haven't reached it yet; I'm working towards it.

But, what if I had it in my hand right now?

A few days ago, while reading a post about it, I thought about everything I would do with $1,000.

• I would pay for at least three months of internet in advance.

My monthly internet bill is $30, so three months would be equivalent to $90.

It's what I use for work every day, and it would be a relief to be able to pay in advance and forget about it for a while.

So, out of $1000, I would have $910 available.

• I would buy a sewing machine

I have a hair accessory business. We use fabric, which means sewing is involved.

We're now saving up to buy it, because it would make the work easier and help us reduce delivery times.

I always take pictures of the sewing machines to keep the goal updated, so its cost is $225.

So, of the $910, I would have $685 left.

• I would take the sewing machine I have to be repaired

I have a sewing machine that belonged to my grandfather. It was missing some parts, which I've already bought. But the machine still doesn't work.

And honestly, I've postponed repairing it because I don't know how much it will cost. I also have several expenses, and since I've already spent so much money on it and I can't get it working, I haven't set it as a goal.

But I suppose the repair wouldn't be more than $100, so let's keep it in mind.

Of the $685, I would have $585 left.

• I would buy a laptop

I always put off buying a laptop, but with $1000 I wouldn't have to; I would buy it.

This would give me a backup in case I need it, since my laptop is quite old. It's been a real workhorse, serving me well on this remote work journey.

I don't earn that much right now, which is why I haven't bought it. So, I'll add it to the list, with about $484.

Out of $585, we would have $101 left.

• What would I do with the remaining money?

We don't have much left, but at least I would have already bought some of the equipment I need for work.

What I would do with the remainder is allocate it to smaller expenses like food, as well as buying some stocks or crypto.

• Why not consider other expenses or investments?

What you see in this post are the tools I need to reach the next level in my online work.

So, anything you use to improve your work will help you.

One example is my phone. Thanks to it, I've been able to take photos, record videos, and earn more money than before.

Although it's not a huge profit, it's quite useful and has helped me achieve a bit more stability.

Therefore, I wouldn't choose any other path; instead, I would invest in what I need to work more and better.
