This is the moment you have been waiting for. So, wait no longer, Golf Season has officially started!
Truth be told, we have been golfing indoors weekly all winter. Definitely some similarities but nothing compares to the real thing, especially after a long winter and slow spring.
Nice how the turf is as green as it is this early in the season. Not as lush as it will be in the dead of summer but definitely golfable.
You can probably see we are not professionals as much as we are addicts. The first round of the year is usually a bit of a shit show because of the rust, lack of muscle memory and whatever tightness comes from the winter regimen.
As was the case here despite swinging all winter. I scored an even 100 including penalty strokes which is not all that bad for a first outing.
I did crank quite a few good shots including this tee shot on a par 3. You can see the ball mark in the green and appreciate the spin I put on it so that it jumped backwards after landing. 12 foot birdie put opportunity in the first game of the year is about as good as it gets. Spoiler alert: I missed and settled for a par.
Golf is not without its perils. What other sport has it perfectly acceptable to drink and drive? We might have gone a little off fairway in search of errant shots and did a little tree trimming.
As a bonus 19th hole, we visited the taproom of the local brewery for a celebratory pint. It would have been rude not to.
So, the sun has gone down on another 10k
@actifit golf adventure. Pretty sweet when you can watch it set with a pint and a couple friends.
