Hola needleworkers 😊 espero que estén muy bien el día de hoy, este cuatrimestre está siendo una locura pero acá me mantengo firme en mis actualizaciones de trabajos, estamos haciendo cosas muy interesantes entonces quiero contarles todo.
Después de mi entrega del prototipo del principito de Thom Browne llego otro nuevo trabajo de réplica pero ahora es más difícil ya que mezcla la sastrería con la experimentación del diseño.
Hello needleworkers 😊 I hope you're doing well today. This semester has been crazy, but I'm staying consistent with my work updates. We're doing some really interesting things, so I want to tell you all about it.
After my delivery of the prototype of Thom Browne's The Little Prince, another new replica project arrived, but this time it's more difficult since it combines tailoring with design experimentation.
Esta vez todos los sacos fueron más difíciles de base, en el trabajo anterior nos habían asignado cosas según nuestras notas, mi grupo tenía promedio 8, así que era bastante difícil, no es que ahora sea menos difícil pero vemos que al menos los demás también tienen algo difícil que resolver, hay diseños muy buenos.
This time all the bags were more difficult from the start. In the previous project, we had been assigned tasks based on our grades. My group had an average of 8, so it was quite difficult. It's not that it's less difficult now, but we see that at least the others also have something difficult to solve. There are some very good designs.
Como se trata de sastrería empezamos muy temprano un sábado viendo moldería que mi amiga ya tenía, por suerte ella hizo técnicas de producción 3 el año pasado, una materia que estoy haciendo yo ahora, entonces ya tiene esa información y conocimiento asentado que sirvió mucho para este nuevo trabajo.
Since it's about tailoring, we started very early on a Saturday looking at patterns that my friend already had. Luckily, she took Production Techniques 3 last year, a subject I'm currently taking, so she already has that information and knowledge established, which was very useful for this new job.
Planteamos toda la transformación en una maqueta muy pequeña y después lo llevamos a una escala más grande para probarlo en el cuerpo y hacer los cambios necesarios para poder llevarlo a tela final, en este caso también vamos a usar lienzo.
We planned the entire transformation in a very small model and then scaled it up to a larger scale to test it on the body and make the necessary changes to be able to convert it to the final fabric. In this case, we're also going to use canvas.
Hicimos muchos cambios como agrandar partes para darle esa silueta de vestido amplio, pero siempre desde la base de la sastrería donde vamos a tomar las partes tal cual son.
We made many changes, such as enlarging parts to give it that full dress silhouette, but always from the base of tailoring where we will take the parts as they are.
A esta jornada de moldes le dedicamos todo un día jajajja fue realmente un trabajo de muchísimas horas pero trabajamos bien.
We dedicated an entire day to this molding session, hahaha, it was really a job that took many hours, but we did a good job.
A la hora de pasar a la tela hubo que entretelar mucho, las piezas del saco es decir todo lo que es torso lleva entretela así que fue mucho trabajo de usar la plancha y fusionar telas para que se adapte al cuerpo.
When it came to the fabric, there was a lot of interlining involved. The jacket pieces, that is, the entire torso, had interlining, so it was a lot of work using the iron and fusing fabrics to make it fit the body.
Volvió nuestro miriñaque del trabajo anterior, esto nos daba una gran estructura así que lo íbamos a usar, ya teníamos casi todo el frente ensamblado pero había muchísimos detalles que resolver, mangas, hombreras y todo lo interno.
Our crinoline from the previous project came back. This gave us a great structure, so we were going to use it. We already had almost the entire front assembled, but there were still a lot of details to work out: sleeves, shoulder pads, and everything inside.
Nuestro primer fin de semana fue bueno, teníamos casi todo resuelto y solo había que unir algunas cosas extras que se encargó mi amiga, tuvimos clase de corrección y fuimos el prototipo destacado por que calzaba muy bien en el cuerpo, pero faltaba resolver muchos detalles de la construcción.
Our first weekend was good, we had almost everything figured out and just had to put together a few extra things that my friend took care of. We had a correction class and we were the outstanding prototype because it fit the body very well, but there were still many details of the construction to be resolved.
Entre lo que nos faltaba había que ir a comprar botones, es algo que tengo pendiente, ir a alguna botonera y comprar botones en oferta o cosas así, eso ayudaría mucho en ahorrar tiempo cuando estamos en la búsqueda de botones.
Among the things we were missing was going to buy buttons, something I've been meaning to do, going to a button store and buying buttons on sale or something like that, that would help a lot in saving time when we're looking for buttons.
Habia mucho que corregir, el diseño tenía una manga gigante, terminaciones expuestas y forreria, cosas que un poco habíamos olvidado jajaja, pero la resolución de esto es algo que les contaré en otro momento, pequeño spoiler estuvimos batallando bastante con llegar con todo, pero se logró, hubo muchos prototipos muy buenos, pero todos estábamos muy cansados ese día, espero pronto mostrarles como termino este trabajo porque fue increíble.
There was a lot to fix, the design had a giant sleeve, exposed edges and lining, things we had kind of forgotten hahaha, but the resolution of this is something I'll tell you about another time, small spoiler, we were struggling quite a bit to get everything done, but it was achieved, there were a lot of very good prototypes, but we were all very tired that day, I hope to soon show you how this work ended because it was incredible.
