Imagine walking in the snow, a cold, cloudy but pleasant day, there's no storm, you have a gun to defend yourself, enough food and water to survive for several days, then you think everything is fine but suddenly everything starts to go wrong. Well, that's how my adventure in The Long Dark began. I love this game and with each new challenge I learn something new and also die in a very silly way hahaha.

After surviving for a long time and exploring the usual places, I began to believe that maybe I was ready to explore more. There are certain places on the map that I know are very dangerous. Either the wildlife wants to eat me or there's simply no shelter, so I don't survive long enough.

I started walking through the woods, saw a dead deer, and got alarmed. Whenever there's a dead deer, there are hungry wolves nearby, so I hid in a cave. After making so many bonfires, I managed to get them to level 2, a mini-achievement. This makes my fires more successful, and if not, I can always throw some flammable liquid at them, haha.

I walked a lot because I already know certain areas, so I know where to go (almost, uh, sometimes I get lost on that giant map) to find shelter or supplies, but this time I wanted to see a little more.

I rested another night. 8 days in the game is quite a lot, but since I've been playing for a while, if I stay in my comfort zone, I can live longer. 8 days isn't that big a deal.

I ended up in the desolate passage, an intermediate level, and I thought I'd make it there. Well, almost, hahaha, but the views were beautiful. Everything is pretty clear. It's at the edge of the map where fishermen used to hunt whales before the disaster.

There's an old cabin, but I didn't go. I felt like exploding. That's what I'd gone there for, even if death found me once more. That's what happens in The Long Dark. It's a race against death, which always wins. The challenge is how long you can beat it until it catches up with you and the end arrives. A bit like living, hahaha.

Another great view is when dusk falls. The rocks are blurred, and if a bear comes, I'm easy prey. Moments of tension are always experienced when I'm outside at night. The snow and the cold are never forgiving.

In the distance, I found a lighthouse, a new postcard from the game I didn't know at all. A beautiful place. I had to get in and climb up or I was going to freeze to death out there. My coat and coffee weren't enough to withstand being out in the open.

I spent the night at the lighthouse, and in the morning, after another sunrise, I went out. I was freezing again, but this time worse than before. I'd already wandered quite far from the lighthouse, so I just kept walking.

I found a route. This is always good; it leads me somewhere. Where? I don't know.

Some kind of factory stood in front of me. A bit of relief, a place to warm up and rest. My fatigue bar was starting to run low. Being sleepy and cold at the same time is a death trap.

I went back after warming up a bit. In the end, it was a whaling factory, a kind of workshop. I couldn't sleep, but not being cold was pretty good.

I love the view from the frozen pier, the watercolor painted clouds blending with the sky look beautiful in this game.

See you next time ❤️ Yowi.
