Hey guys! π Today, Iβm sharing the extended version of Zarvok, one of the cards I illustrated for
@radaquest of. Funny thingβI got so caught up in the details that I completely forgot to save the process shots. π
But hey, I still wanna dive into this piece and break down the thought behind it!
βοΈ Whatβs the vibe with Zarvok?
From the start, I knew Zarvok had to feel unstoppable. His design is all about raw power and steampunk vibes, with that fiery, steam-powered wheel thatβs not just for movementβitβs a full-blown weapon. I wanted him to feel like a force of nature, someone who doesnβt stop for anything.
The forward-leaning pose really amps up the momentum, making it look like heβs charging straight into battle. His masked face and those glowing embers around him? Pure intimidation. You just know this guy means business.
π¨ The creative flow (aka, no process shots π€¦ββοΈ)
So yeah... I kinda got lost in the details and forgot to take progress pics. π€― Happens when I get super into rendering textures, tweaking lighting, and adding those fire effects.
What I loved most was playing with contrastβgritty metal mixed with glowing embers, sparks flying everywhere, and that intense, chaotic energy. Every element was designed to make it feel like heβs in constant motion, tearing through anything in his way.

**Key details in the illustration:**π§
πΉ Power stance: dudeβs ready to wreck things.
πΉ Mysterious mask: adds to his intimidating aura.
πΉ Deadly wheel: not just for showβitβs his main weapon.
πΉ Lighting & texture mix: rusted metal meets blazing fire.
Even though I donβt have the usual step-by-step shots, I think the final piece speaks for itself. What do you guys think? Drop your thoughts π₯π
