While Central Europe is suffering from an heat wave, my wife and I flew to Denmark.
A county we have not visited yet...

We started our journey on Tuesday. Our first destination of interest was actually the famous Lego Land in Billund.
Luckily we got a hotel room just a couple of hundred meters away, so we were able to get there by foot, as there were thousands of people heading there by car.

During my childhood Lego was a big part of my spare time. Today almost 30 years later I finally visited Lego Land.
Even at my age, I was amazed. Even my wife enjoyed the lovely created theme park.

We spent about 4 hours there.
As a child, you can easily spend 2 or 3 days there as most of the shows and attractions are designed for children.
As a parent, well, good luck I guess :D
Many attractions like the roller coasters had an average waiting time of over 30 minutes.
However, later that day we headed north to our apartment we rented via Air BnB.
Although windy and rather cold, we enjoy this weather here much more than the current 35°C we have in Austria.

Lild Strand in Denmark...
Our apartment is just about 2km away from the beach. Although too cold and windy to swim.
Finally we got some food from the local shop and made ourselves some Pasta frutti de Mare.
I am glad my wife is pretty good on the kitchen :D

The next days we plan to start our daily trips from here. One to the northest part of Denmark where the Baltic Sea meets the ocean... To Skargen.
Another day is planned to be in the south-west at the coast of the ocean.
The weather forecast looks pretty good so far.
On Sunday we are heading back to Copenhagen for 2 additional days.
