All roads lead to Cachamay Island.

After a few weeks, I returned to Leofling Park to continue exploring and discovering new spots or places I hadn't yet discovered in this great park. Luckily, that day I was able to go much further than I thought. While looking at a map on Google Maps, I thought of a fixed point that might have looked like a large lake, which then leads to other spots I had previously visited, such as the Leofling Wells, or at least that's what I call them. However, this park has countless trails, and I don't really know which places it might lead to. Some are so overgrown that it's impossible to walk past them, and others have a clear view of the path.
My route was the same as usual, passing several familiar spots, but then I found myself on new paths, among somewhat dry vegetation that contrasted with a bit of jungle. Perhaps 30 minutes of walking passed before I came across a large lake. Perhaps it was artificial, because I could see some cement at some point in the lake. Then I thought, "What else can I do?" I saw a path running alongside me, and without hesitation, I kept walking on pure instinct. I was practically skirting the lake and part of the Caroní River. I kept going until I found a path, and at that point, I had to make a decision, when suddenly, out of nowhere, a motorcycle appeared with a man and his son, and basically all I did was keep up with them.
Of all the times I'd gone, I'd never run into anyone, but luckily, I came across a bridge—that bridge a man had mentioned to me months ago. It connected Leofling Park and Cachamay Island, and it also allowed me to follow a route that leads to La Llovizna Park. At one point, I wanted to continue on that route, but I had to return home because of a commitment. I finally made it to that bridge, and I can see that the island is completely jungle-covered, but with clear paths.
Then, on my way back, I noticed another path very close to the bridge, and like any curious person, I went inside to see what was there. Another person was approaching me behind me. For a moment, I was scared because it's not common for me to see people in this area, but it turned out to be a fisherman. I talked to him a bit, and he told me that many years ago, this place was very dangerous because the people who frequented it were victims of robbery. But then, both police and military personnel began to stand guard until the situation was resolved.
Continuing along that path, I came across a long dock that connects to the Caroní River, between its waters and waterfalls. I could also get another perspective of the city of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, and I could perfectly see Cachamay Island and the bridge, which was the destination of this tour. These places are undoubtedly wonderful, amidst the rushing waters and the harmony of the landscape. My next visit is to reach Cachamay Island, because, as I said, all roads lead to the island.
All photographs are my own.
