Hello to all Hungry Hivers!!
How is your day going?!
I hope you all have your dessert spoons ready.. 😁

Today, I am sharing my little dessert experiment..
I found a recipe online that looked so simple that I just had to try it..
Now, a quick warning.. 😁 I am definitely not the best person to have in a kitchen, so please forgive any "creative" mistakes I made today! šŸ˜„

According to the online recipe, here is what you need to make this Ube Gelatin:

1.jpg

1 can Ube flavored condensed milk

1 can (360 ml) Evaporated milk

25 grams Gulaman (gelatin) powder

250 ml All-purpose cream

2 cups of Water

1/3 cup Sugar

Cheese for the topping

Now my"Oops" method šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³
The video instructions said to heat the water until bubbles appear (almost boiling), then mix everything in except the cheese.. Well, things didn't go exactly as planned for my first try! 😁

So here's how I did it..

  • Heat the water - I got my pan ready and started heating the 2 cups of water..

2.jpg

  • now, the gelatin mistake - I dumped the gelatin powder straight in..
Pro tip: Don't do this! It's better to dissolve it in cold water first.. 😁 and this should be added last šŸ˜†

3.jpg

  • Mixing the Ube - I added the ube condensed milk while stirring.. This is where the lumps started to show up,, uh oh!!

  • then the creamy additions - I poured in the all-purpose cream, followed by the evaporated milk.. all while stirring continuously..

the lumps are getting visible..
  • now for the last ingredient - to sweeten it up, in went the sugar..

I stirred it continuously and let the sugar dissolve..

✨ The mixture was way thicker than I expected,, and I was honestly worried it would be a total disaster..
But I didn't give up! I poured the thick ube mix into my molds anyway..

After letting them cool on the counter for a bit,, I popped them in the fridge for about 20 minutes..
When they were firm, I flipped them onto a plate and covered them with a generous amount of grated cheese.. šŸ§€

The result? Even with the lumps and the thickness, my little niece absolutely loved it! Sometimes, even a "fail" in the kitchen can turn into a sweet win.. 😁

Have you ever had a kitchen disaster that turned out delicious?

I hope I'm not the only one having this problem.. 😁

That's all for today, until my next food experiment.. šŸ˜„
