This morning, Clare put up a second bed, in the other side of the house.
Not because we are having a relationship crisis, far from it, but because we are so inseparable - as mentioned in my latest post
Eating out - Half a Year with Clare and Clare's recent write up
Should we Stay or Should we Go? - that it's pretty challenging to sleep.
When one of us has a restless night, which happens more often than I'd like to admit, the other tends to have a similar sleeping pattern ( although at least our dreams are still mostly separate, it seems ).
Last night was another rough one. And thus, mere hours after breakfast, after I'd hung out some washing on the balcony at the other side of the house, I found myself on that li'l fold up bed/stretcher that Clare had installed in the back of that room, earlier.
It was just too tempting. I was unable to resist it.
I lay on my back, on top of the duvet, and stared at the clouds drifting by, just about visible through the opened up balcony doors.
Meanwhile, my thoughts did the same,
they drifted by...
and I almost...
fell asleep.
After going under cover ( instead of resting on top of the duvet ), I dozed off even more.
That is, until Clare entered the room, carrying my notebook and a book that I'm currently reading, the third in a trilogy (about an English woman who moved to the Italian countryside). Clare informed me that she was about to go to the nearest mini market, to get some bread and milk, unless I - instead - wanted to go out for lunch with her at a bakery/restaurant. A place where they sell pretty nice ready-to-eat food, a so called 'Tavola Calda' ( warm table ).
I decided to break out of my 'laziness' and join her for a lunch and some hours spent among other people, in the city center, bringing my laptop along ( in case inspiration would hit ).
Clare decided, as she tends to do, to bring a needlework project along with her and is hand sewing away, right next to me, while I type this.
Today's food was so nice and we were so hungry that we didn't take any photos of it but Clare and I enjoyed this pizza, days ago.
As per usual, I ended up being distracted by the loud sound of a television, it's nearly impossible to find an establishment without one or loud music (or both).
Note to self: When am I finally gonna buy new headphones?
I lost my last pair on the (bus)trip from Portugal to Italy, two months ago.
We are now back home again and I am finishing this post in that same room with the nice balcony with a mountain view ( FYI: this house has another balcony, outside our bathroom ).
This time around, I'm not lying down on the bed but sitting on a mini couch, near the balcony.
Clare just came in again, to check in on me and bring me some more warm tea.
Such a sweetie!
She noticed that I was a bit cold, sitting with the balcony doors open, and draped a bunch of warm clothes over my lap, neck and head and them topped it off with a kiss.
I can't complain.
Even if she made me look like this:
I hope you're all having a nice day. Goodbye for now from Italy, the land of pizza!🖐
