Die St. Patrick’s Kathedrale in Dublin war ursprünglich eine Holzkapelle, die circa 1191 zur einer Kathedrale ausgebaut wurde und dem National-Heiligen von Irland Saint Patrick geweiht ist. Patrick von Irland lebte im 4. und 5. Jahrhundert CE und soll die Iren zum Christentum konvertiert haben.
Stelle mir gerade vor, wie das tatsächlich vonstatten gegangen sein könnte, denke ist nicht so leicht einen Menschen, der an mehrere Götter und pagane Traditionen glaubt, zu einem anderen Glauben mit nur einem Gott zu konvertieren.
Denke, dass Missionare eher versucht haben, Kinder und Menschen, die anderen Glaubenssystemen gegenüber offen waren, für sich zu gewinnen.
Später wurde der Glaube auch zur Staatsreligion, was der Verbreitung wohl auch zuträglich war.
Heutzutage spielt das alles meiner Meinung nach nur noch eine untergeordnete Rolle.

St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin was originally a wooden chapel, which was converted into a cathedral around 1191 and is dedicated to the national saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. Patrick of Ireland lived in the 4th and 5th centuries CE and is said to have converted the Irish to Christianity.
Just imagining how that might have actually happened, don't think it's that easy to convert a person who believes in multiple gods and pagan traditions to another faith with only one god.
I think that missionaries rather tried to win over children and people who were open to other belief systems.
Later, the faith also became the state religion, which was probably also conducive to its spread.
Nowadays religious beliefs only play a minor role any more in my opinion.
