Hola a todos los miembros de esta hermosa comunidad, sean bienvenidos a una nueva sección de mi blog. En esta ocasión, les presentaré el Museo Aeronáutico de Maracay, ya que tuve la oportunidad de visitar estos espacios durante un reciente concierto con los muchachos del sistema. Espero que lo disfruten.
To begin, it's important to understand that Venezuelan aviation began in Maracay in the 1920s, under the leadership of General Gómez, who revolutionized and modernized everything related to the military in Venezuela. This museum is a space to remember and commemorate all the important aircraft that have arrived in the country. Among them are numerous models of fighter jets. It also houses the most faithful reconstruction of the "Sacred Cow," the plane that took Marcos Pérez Jiménez into exile after his overthrow on January 23rd. Other artifacts are also on display, such as convoys and some of the trucks used at the time for aircraft maintenance.
Para empezar, debemos tener claro que la aviación venezolana comenzó en Maracay en la década de 1920, bajo el liderazgo del general Gómez, quien revolucionó y modernizó todo lo relacionado con la materia militar en Venezuela. Este museo es un espacio para recordar y conmemorar todos los aviones importantes que han llegado al país. Entre ellos, podemos encontrar aviones de combate de numerosos modelos. Además, se encuentra la reconstrucción más fiel de la "Vaca Sagrada", el avión que llevó a Marcos Pérez Jiménez a su exilio tras su derrocamiento el 23 de enero. También se exhiben otros artefactos, como convoyes y algunos camiones que se utilizaban en la época para el mantenimiento de los aviones.
In addition to this, it also features artistic monuments, such as the large canvas I showed in the first image, which depicts Gómez alongside the first pilots and some of the most influential people in his aviation project for Venezuela at that time. There is also a hall with numerous awards and paintings, although it is not open to the general public and must be visited on a specific day. Furthermore, they have several specialists who offer tours and explain a bit about each aircraft and its history. Visitors are also allowed to board the planes and touch some of the parts, though not all of them.For my city, this museum is quite important and significant, as it covers the entire history of aviation in the nation, as I mentioned before. Many aircraft that were previously located in other states have been moved here, and there is also a replica of the car that ran over Saint José Gregorio Hernández. It's a truly beautiful place that I recommend visiting at least once. The atmosphere is captivating, and the stories behind each aircraft are truly beautiful and meaningful.
Además de esto, también cuenta con monumentos artísticos, como el gran lienzo que mostré en la primera imagen, el cual retrata a Gómez junto a los primeros pilotos y algunas de las personas más influyentes en el proyecto de aviación que tenía para Venezuela en esa época. También hay un salón con numerosos reconocimientos y pinturas, aunque no está accesible para todo el público y se debe visitar en un día específico. Asimismo, cuentan con varios especialistas en la materia que ofrecen recorridos y explican un poco sobre cada avión y su historia. Además, permiten que los visitantes se suban a los aviones y toquen algunas de sus piezas, aunque no todas.Para mi ciudad, este museo es bastante importante y significativo, ya que, como mencioné antes, abarca toda la historia de la aviación de la nación. Muchos aviones que anteriormente estaban en otros estados han sido trasladados aquí, y también existe una réplica del carro que atropelló al Santo José Gregorio Hernández. Es una obra bastante hermosa que recomiendo visitar al menos una vez. El ambiente es cautivador y las historias de cada avión son realmente bellas y significativas.
It also has a small plaza with a statue of Gómez, who isn't considered the father of Venezuelan aviation, and of other influential figures. It's truly a beautiful and quite large space; at first glance it seems small, but as you walk around, you'll find dozens of airplanes, from small to very large. We were there because we attended a concert for the system's 51st anniversary, and they allowed us to use the front of the museum, which is like a stage in the middle of the main aircraft displays.
También cuenta con una placita con la estatua de Gómez, quien no es considerado el padre de la aviación venezolana, y de otros hombres influyentes. De verdad, es un espacio muy lindo y bastante grande; a simple vista parece pequeño, sin embargo, a medida que uno va caminando, puede encontrar decenas de aviones, desde pequeños hasta muy grandes. Nosotros estuvimos allí porque asistimos a un concierto por el 51 aniversario del sistema, y nos permitieron utilizar la parte frontal del museo, que es como un escenario en medio de las secciones importantes de aviones.
It's a truly beautiful place that I highly recommend visiting at least once.
