There was a time in the bible where it recorded that God's people turned their back, when they have done evil in the sight of the Lord. The Lord the said through the prophet Amos in the book of Amos 4:6;
And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
The intent of the Lord is for man to return to God, to remember that God is always our provider. Verse 7 continues by saying;
And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
God wanted them to experience these hardships for them to return to the Him. Even their crops were smitten by the Lord, as seen in verse 9, because of the intent of the God was for them there is a God that is powerful to make things happen. In verse 10 we see that God sent them pestilences. This is a picture of things that are happening now, where
humanity is experiencing hardship, problems, depression, the only cure is to return to the Lord.
God is allowing these things to happen for us to think on our ways and for us to return to Him, but most of us reject do so. So we are harvesting the consequences of what we have planted or what we have done. This is the biblical reason why all this manner of evil is now being experienced by humanity.
