Remaining resilient in the face of adversity is paramount to happiness. Why?

- No one else can do it for you.
- The alternative is far worse.
- Your immigrant ancestors demand it of you.
- We are all born this way (a child must learn fear).
- Safety is an illusion; no one gets out alive anyway.
- Your mom will be so proud of you.
- The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
- “Fear is the mind-killer.”
I’ve been traveling quite a bit around Southeast Asia and international travel always taxes my emotional resources and truly tests my resiliency, which is ultimately good for building resilience! I wrote the above passage as a reminder to me to be resilient while on this extended journey. There were a few days where I was confronting some serious anxiety and needed to uplift my fearful emotional state. I thought maybe the above passage could help you as well. Be well and safe travels wherever they may lead.
