Splinterlands Art Contest Week 292 - Vernari Scout

Drawing time again, I didn’t participate in the previous Splinterlands challenges because I was busy, but here I am again for my new charcoal drawing style. My entry for this week is none other than Vernari Scout.

Vernari Scout is cute to draw, so I decided to draw him. I thought of making my drawing somewhat shadowy since Vernari Scout is an assassin.

The first thing I did, of course, was to outline the base shape to form the figure.

Next, after drawing the base shape, I added details to it.

After adding details, I darkened my outline.

Once I was satisfied with the outline, I started applying base colors to different parts of the character.

After applying base colors, I duplicated the layer to keep my base colors safe. On the duplicate layer, I created a clipping mask for each color and shaded the colors there.

I also added a smoky black effect to Vernari’s background to make it a bit darker.

For the finishing touch, I created a new layer on top of the outline and added more details, thickening the outline in some parts.

And here is my finished drawing.
