Pocket Bravery Work in Progress Port to Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Revealed

Color me surprised, I was completely caught off guard at the news that there is a new fighting game coming to the Sega Genesis. It is being programmed by Rheo Gamer who are based in Brazil and are obviously extremely talented as they are obviously slamming the gauntlet down for new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive games.

Big Heads Bigger Action

Chibi style is better known for its big heads aesthetic. While Pocket Bravery has a touch of chibi style, it is clearly not embracing the art style with 100% of its energy. That is fine as the game has created a unique look that works quite well based on the media available so far.
Retro gaming fans will probably recognize this, at least in North America, as the art style that SNK used for many games on their Neo Geo Pocket and Pocket Color handheld in the late 90s (they used this halfway there style in the Metal Slug franchise too).

Attention to Detail Matters

Pocket Bravery was originally released in 2023 for PCs and pretty much all major consoles and received good response from fans. Soon Sega Genesis fans will be able to throw down with a port of their own.
Graphically, things look amazing for the 16-Bit port of Pocket Bravery. The backgrounds are full of animation from the water to the characters hooping and hollering as the fight progresses. The one level shown also features a high speed train in the background crossing a bridge.
The two characters shown in the video also have TONS of animation and moves to dish out the pain. There are also cut scenes, after fight collages and more.
Pocket Bravery is going to be a huge game. As I know more, I will do my best to update everyone here in the Hive Gaming community.
