What makes our Faith in God strong are the words of God, they are the sustaining spirit. You see, you said you don't have a religion and it's not good to say things like that because you were not brought up believing in One Creator of Heaven and Earth, maybe you were brought up knowing science and physical things but be that as it may, you are going to study facts and truth and everything around us, we will discover that we are spirit beings, the Bible tells us we have our body, our spirit and our soul.
It is a truth that physicists do not recognize it because they only believe in physical things, but the Bible tells us that there are spirits in our being. It is the spirit that gives life to our flesh according to The Lord Jesus Christ. A body without a spirit is dead, just like faith without works is dead, James 2:26;
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
It is the spirit that gives life to our body and our flesh, to our material being and the Spirit that gives life to our spirit is the word of God. John 6:63;
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
So if you are asking to know how one's faith can be strong and how one can pass faith to one's family and children. It is our obligation to learn the words of God, that is why at baptism, we are to undergo indoctrination sessions, where the whole Will of God is taught, words of God to follow and which is the best thing to do to fortify one's faith. Romans 10:17;
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Because faith cometh from hearing the word of God so in order to progress in Faith, one has to continue hearing the word of God. Without the Word, one will wax cold but hearing it would sustain the fires and the embers of faith that we may remain steadfast in our sojourn through Earth.
