In 2022, the first of April became a special day for me forever. On this day, Ukrainian troops liberated us from russian orcs. We've been in the occupation for more than a month. The terrible March of 2022 between Bucha and Borodyanka.
– How did you survive?
This was the first question my friends asked me when the mobile connection was restored. Although... it could hardly be called communication.
I I have to tell you something about survival. That's not the hardest thing. When you are in a dangerous situation, you start to act. And that's good. Your thoughts are occupied with only one thing - to survive. The rest simply loses its meaning. The problems will start when you are safe. The realisation of what happened will cover you with all mercilessness.
We didn't start this war. It began with the sick imagination of russians who consider themselves a supernation that has the right to rob, kill and rape. The russian army is an army of ordinary bandits. They broke into our houses to kill the people living there and steal a washing machine or a toilet. That's all you need to know about russians. I don't mean nationality here, I mean citizenship. I mean the politics. I mean their sick president putin.
When today someone tries to find justifications for the actions of russians, it is an attempt to find an excuse for a murderer or rapist. They say: the victim is to blame! The victim provoked him! Don't you think this is nonsense? It sounds like no be a woman and you won't be raped! Don't have anything and you won't be robbed! If you're a woman, you're guilty of the rape. If you worked and have something and you were robbed, it's your own fault! What do you think of this logic? If you don't want the russians to occupy your country, they'll kill you, but it's your fault? This is nonsense, but some politicians argue like that, although they don't voice it directly. russians lie so skilfully that those who do not know them directly begin to believe them and see the world through a crooked mirror. It's very dangerous for everyone.
Every day the russians bomb residential neighbourhoods in my country and tell the world that these were military facilities. They're not just liars, they're stupid liars. Is it possible to hide the truth in the age of information technology? They were unable to defeat our army and, as revenge, they kill women, old people and children.
I don't know how this war will end. But I know for sure that if my country does not resist, it will be a disaster for the whole of Europe. Bloodthirsty maniacs are already knocking on your door. Ostrich politics will not save anyone.
The first of April was my second birthday. On this day, the Ukrainian army drove the russian occupiers out of my region. Have you ever been happy to see tanks? Oh, I never thought I'd be so happy to see them! Tanks with the Ukrainian flag.
I don't expect everyone to understand me. To understand this, you have to go through it. Even if you've seen a thousand movies about war or survival, believe me, you have no idea what it means. It's not a judgement, it's just a fact. All I wish you is that your understanding of war will forever remain only a theory.
