**This fried banana cake in my area is called frog-frog (kodok-kodok) because its shape is small and puffed up like a frog. And this cake is a traditional cake that uses ripe bananas.**
The frogs that I made use of very ripe bananas. In the past, it was called frogs because this cake was blackish brown due to the factor of very ripe bananas then mixed with wheat flour then fried in hot oil and the dough was formed into small pieces like frogs. But now everyone is innovating and the shape is not puffy and many have maintained their health by replacing some ingredients. However, the main ingredient is still very ripe bananas but not rotten bananas, my friends.
The ingredients I use here are
**1. 1 comb of bananas and I use the type of banana lilit bunch. You can see for yourself the skin is already black but when I peel the banana flesh is still very good and the taste of this banana is very sweet so in making this cake I do not need additional**
2. 200 grams of oatmeal (usually in making this cake, wheat flour is used, but my wife and I rarely use wheat flour so I use oatmeal instead.
3. 2 tablespoons of rice flour
4. 200 grams of fresh grated coconut
5. 1 tablespoon of margarine
How to make this Frog cake is
**1. What I do is peel the bananas until clean, no skin is left**
2. After that I mash the bananas using a spoon only
3. Then after the bananas are smooth I put oatmeal in it
4. Then fresh grated coconut that is a little young
5. And then I put in rice flour
6. The last is margarine
7. After that I stir all the ingredients until evenly distributed and there are no more lumps of ingredients
8. Then I heat a little oil and fry it. In the frying process I use medium heat which is closer to small. No need to wait long if the dough has started to turn brown, turn the dough over and if the color is even then the Frog cake can be removed.
From the name it is a bit disgusting but this cake is very delicious and because there is no added sugar and artificial sweeteners, my recipe for frog cakes is not too sweet and makes your mouth feel nauseous. So if you have bananas at home, don't throw them away, you can process them into a cake like this. You can try my simple recipe. Greetings from Tomi diwirja, Indonesia
