3 years ago I had been to this Batu Katak river to enjoy my short vacation with my wife and because it had been a long time since I wanted to repeat it again to that small river because this small river is not too crowded and is really very suitable for a moment away from the excitement of the capital city and the noise of existing vehicles. This small river called Batu Katak is located in Langkat Regency, Republic of Indonesia, and visitors who come here are actually those who come from European countries and this is very much and usually visitors from other countries are environmental lovers who deliberately want to Tracking looking for Rafflesia Arnoldhi flowers or Corpse flowers in the forest which in March and April have begun to bloom. Blooming flowers.
This river is not too big. And not fast, in fact it can be said to be shallow. On the edge of the river there are many rocks but not slippery, in fact I deliberately stepped on the rocks for foot reflection which is good for health. Because the location of this river is near the forest, the water is very cold and very fresh and 1 hour of bathing in this river my body was shivering because the water was too cold.
To get to this river we need to pass through stairs made of stone. These stairs are made because we will pass through mini caves that look very aesthetic. From the gaps in the rocks of the cave when we pass through. I can see the source of the spring there and when I touch it with my hand it is very clear and when I try to taste it it is very fresh. Therefore, the managers of this river are very concerned about the cleanliness of the environment because they are very afraid that someone will pollute this river so that the spring here becomes polluted, another reason is that the spring here is also used by the surrounding community for their daily lives.
And you can see the river flow from above. And if you want to go to the inn across there is a bridge that can be crossed or you can cross the river directly because the flow is not fast and not too deep so that for children and those who can not swim it is very safe to be in this river. oh yes besides the steps that I have mentioned. There is also a bridge made of iron. About 3 years ago when I was there, these irons still had bright colorful paint but now the paint has faded and its aesthetic value has greatly decreased. Even though if this bridge is repainted, this is one of the interesting photo spots on this river.
