The Devil’s path is a picturesque eco-path crossing a part of Rhodope mountains near Borino village.

Hiking in the mountains is one of my favourite experiences and Rhodope is one of my favourite mountains in Bulgaria. There is a lot of mystic and tranquility at that place with many villages preserved for centuries with their own way of life and habits. This disconected from other world place is ‘nurturing’ people of different ‘breed’, those that are more connected with their inner self and nature. Those that have been taught of patience and gratitude by the hard life in the mountain. This calmness is something that you can feel even in the air in that part of Bulgaria.

I adore Rhodope mountains. I adore to wander in the forest, to explore the narrow paths, to breathe the herb-soaked air and to feel one with nature. This time I was on one week trip to Rhodope mountains and Devils path wasn’t in my plan. Our host from first night recommended it and we said why not. I had read something about it but it seemed to be too crowded (and I don’t like such) but it turned out to be not so popular, but scenic and interesting route.
