Yes, you read that right. My husband actually gave me a compliment. For baking!!! Women, you know what kind of honor that is 😂😂
Not that he never compliments… but usually it’s stuff like: “Hmm… this is not good.” “It needs more sugar.” Or my favorite...when he tries to compliment me but then doesn’t eat anything, so I know exactly what’s going on… but cute from him to pretend 😂
But when he says it AND eats almost everything?? 😂 That’s when I knew...THIS is my proudest moment as a wife 😂 Especially when I see his belly getting bigger and NOT from beer 😂 (Don’t hate me baby, you sexy as hell ❤️😂)
You must know...my husband is a great cook and baker too. But if you cook the same food for 20+ years, of course you can’t mess up fries and crispy chicken… right? 😂
But okay, okay, let’s still give him a compliment that he’s the better cook. (Yes I’m baking, I’m ready for some epic beautiful criticism today 😂)
So, why am I going to bake today, you ask? Because of this beautiful comment he gave me! We bought some cookies in store a few days ago, and when we tried them, they weren’t good at all. Then he told me that the cookies I bake taste so much better. Of course, I'm going to bake them today...I want to prove my worth! 😊 😂
Just one tiny problem: There are NO EGGS in my fridge. And I want to cook AND bake at the same time. So who the hell will go buy me eggs?!
Let’s try my luck… “Baby… I need some eggs… two exactly.”
He runs into the kitchen like a superhero: “Oooh, you want me already? I just showered.”
Me, looking at him like he’s an alien: “Are you fucking me right now?”
Him, with the sweetest voice ever: “Oh baby, not yet… you said you need eggs first.”
At that point, all I could do was laugh like a maniac 😂After I calmed down, I just went with him 😂 Easier...you idiot 😂
But we bought eggs! (CHICKEN eggs...just to make that clear). And because he was such a smartass, now he has to help me! He’s taking pictures and measuring everything old-school because someone forgot to buy a new battery for my kitchen scale… If I try measuring flour with that thing, we’re eating sadness today, not cookies...

And now another problem… I’m baking Vaniljevi rogljički. What do I even call these in English? Vanilla croissants? Vanilla half-moon cookies?? Whatever...you’ll see 😂And I’ll give you the recipe so you can join the Christmas spirit already 🎄💪😂
Let’s goooo!
INGREDIENTS
400 g flour

250 g butter or margarine

140 g ground walnuts

2 eggs

100 g powdered sugar
1 vanilla sugar
PREPARATION
Knead everything into a dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Shape little croissants (or half moon, I don’t know) with your hands, put them on a baking tray, and bake at 180–200°C for about 12 minutes.

While they’re still hot, mix powdered sugar + 2x vanilla sugar and roll the cookies in it. That’s it!

Try not to eat them while hot… I can’t promise they’ll survive until tomorrow.

But don’t ask me if they’re good...I’ll lie. Ask my husband, the Cookie Judge 😂 🤥😂
With love, @tinabrezpike❤️
