Buzzparty 2025 - Welcome to Day 1!

2025-05-02T08:59:42
We started. They delivered. Day one—done!
Of course, me and my husband were late. I mean, come on, we live 15 minutes away, that’s exactly why we were late. It’s tradition at this point. 😅 But somehow, we found the place on the first try...thanks GPS! (Yes, yes… after 11 years, I still use GPS in Graz. Don’t judge me. I’m not 20 anymore and my memory has left the chat.) 😉
So we walk in, and BAM...big table full of name cards. Not just any name cards—our nicknames! You hang it around your neck, people scan the QR code, and boom, they see your profile. So cool, right? I love it. 😄
It was super nice seeing familiar faces! A lot of us already met in Split, so it felt like a mini reunion. And of course, there were some new faces too—if I didn’t say it already, lovely to meet you all! 🙌
Now listen, remembering names is hard. Especially when we’re using nicknames that sound like fantasy characters or secret agents. I thought mine was easy to pronounce… turns out it’s only easy in Slovenian. Oops. So yeah, if I forget your name—no judgment, please. I already have too many voices in my head trying to remember breakfast. 😉
Now let’s talk priorities. First thing I saw—food. A whole table of it. And coffee. My love. My reason for waking up. ☕️ But not just coffee… Hive coffee cups! 😍 Guys. I collect coffee cups. I see one I like—I take it home. My husband says we’re out of space. Lies. He’s just scared I’ll take over the shelf where his Hot Wheels live. (Don’t worry babe, your tiny cars are safe. For now. 😉)
Then came the talking. A lot of talking. And I loved it! So many different languages floating around—it’s magical. Like a global buffet of accents. 🌍 Spanish is my favorite—it’s like music to my ears. I watched too many telenovelas, so I understand a bit. But if I try to speak? Nope. All that comes out is "uhmm" and "hmmm". 😂 Time to finally start learning! (Yes, I’m adding it to my ‘definitely-going-to-do-someday’ list. Sounds better than “bucket list.”)
The venue is huge, and seeing everything ready for us was amazing. It really felt like: “Yes, this is Hive. This is happening.” And that’s pretty exciting!
Yesterday was mostly about meeting, greeting, and nonstop talking—which I love. And then our stomachs said, “Now please, food.” Some brave souls walked to the restaurant (respect ✊). We found this great gasthaus (no idea what it was called anymore, sorry!), ordered beer (because hot day = beer day 🍺), pushed the tables together like one big Hive family, and gave the poor waiter a bit of a challenge. So many people. So much noise. We’re not quiet, let’s be honest. 😆
A lot of you tried the Wiener Schnitzel—solid choice. I think no one was disappointed. Then it got late, and we said, “Okay, time to go home. The dog probably misses us.” (She did. For two minutes. Then we fed her and got ignored. Classic.) 🐶
I was totally wiped out. Hit the bed and out like a light in 10 minutes. Gotta be fresh today—lots of cool stuff coming!
Let the adventure continue! ☕️🎉
