It's gets fairly crowded up on the mountain in the morning with people clamoring to get a clear view of Mt. Bromo. You have to scamper up a muddy hill which has a fairly significant dropoff just a meter or room to spare.
Had a fair bit of luck with the wind direction. The lower section was off limits - about 500m from the center for safety reason. As if we'd be safe if the volcano erupted... we'd get to watch it a little longer yah... maybe record it for 45 seconds longer.
