FEDORA ALEMAN CHAMBER MUSIC ROOM

Visiting new places comes hand in hand with an invitation and this time the invitation came from a dear pianist friend, who accompanied Katherine Yagua in her degree concert as symphonic soloist.
By the way, Katherine obtained her degree in symphonic singing, my friend once again demonstrated her ability as a piano player and I was ecstatic with the presentation of both of them.
And in this degree presentation, I discovered a new place, the "Sala de música de canto del Centro Nacional de Acción Social por la música - Fedora Alemán", it is located on Boulevard Amador Bendayan, in front of the Fundación Casa del Artista, Quebrada Honda, Caracas, very close to my residence in downtown Caracas, Venezuela.
After walking a long corridor whose floor is a work of art by the artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, called "Inducción cromática a doble frecuencia", I arrived at the end of the building and in the distance I saw Los Caobos Park inviting me to walk under its trees. But no, I couldn't because I already had a commitment and reaching the park's walkways meant throwing myself into the void and falling about 10 meters.
Neglected in my thoughts I noticed a small metal door, ugly and without much grace, however, the young man standing next to the door made me think that this was the room I was looking for and I was not wrong.
Once through the door, a small and beautiful hall unfolded in front of my eyes, whose small stage is downstairs and the seats in the form of bleachers are arranged around it at 360 degrees.
The hall has a capacity for 400 people and my friend told me that the stage can be moved closer to or further away from the audience by means of a system of removable platforms, fantastic, isn't it? On the other hand, the bleachers, where the seats are located, are retractable, which allows to add or remove seats, according to the director's needs. I imagine that this also allows greater mobility to the musicians and singers on stage or to the number of them on stage.
The structure is made of reinforced concrete, covered in wood with decorative designs with geometric shapes, both the floor and the walls, which allows for better acoustics and a better flow of lighting. The seats are made of leather (I was fascinated with them) and the armrests are chrome. As for the lighting and sound, they are arranged in 6 bars on the ceiling of the room, mechanized and automated whose control room is located next to the entrance door.
My friend told me that this room is used for solos, trios, quartets and ensembles. Its small and cozy space is ideal for chamber music.
The acoustics are so good that the singer did not use a microphone, her voice was heard throughout the room and her high notes even more. The sound was impeccable and the presentation time was two hours with a 5 minute break. A magical experience.
Thanks for joining me on this tour and I look forward to seeing you on a future adventure.
