Every time I cook at night when it's dark, I end up running to the garden with my flashlight to try and spot some herbs.
But tonight, I thought of a better way to keep my herbs easily accessible.
Every year, I upcycle my Christmas tree into a multipurpose hanger, so this year I used the old one from last year to hang my herbs and planned to place it right by the kitchen door for easy access.
With plenty of bottles lying around, I decided to turn them into planters.
I cut the portion on the opposite side of the handle, leaving the handle and the mouth intact, giving me the option to hang them using either the handle or the mouth.
Once the section is cut off, all you need to do is bend the mouth upward to use it as a ring for hanging.
I made drainage holes at the bottom, filled the bottles with soil.
Then I hung the planters on the hanger.
I transplanted some herbs, including basil, mint, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, and spring onion, and I could do some more!
Now, placed just outside the kitchen door with some sunshine and plenty of water. With extra care, hopefully, they will continue to grow well.
And best of all, I can pick fresh herbs easily at night whenever I cook.
Itβs amazing how the things we once thought to throw away can spark creativity and become so useful.
Have a lovely day,
