Consequences for doing the Right Thing

We're taught to always do the right thing and sometimes doing the right thing can sound easy.
If I have to speak theoretically, standing up for what you believe in, being honest and making ethical choices should always lead to respect and success but reality can be extremely different from theory.
The world doesn't always reward good intentions and doing the right thing can come with some bad consequences.
I'm pretty sure there's been a time in your life where the good you did led to a bad outcome and it even looks like choosing to do bad would have been better than the good you did.
You could get hate, backlashes from society or even financial losses for the good intentions.
A classic example is what's happening right now with Elon Musk. I'm not saying I fully support what he and the department he's been given, DOGE, are doing in America but the objective is to make the government more efficient and to make America great.
Elon has always been a controversial figure, but his latest troubles has exposed a painful truth, what's that truth?
Standing up for your beliefs can cost you almost everything.
People who once admired him are now vandalizing his Tesla properties and setting fire to his cars. It's a sad reality for the man and imagining myself in that position, I don't think I'll be able to show up in public for a long time.
Even the stock market has severely punished his company. The value of Tesla has plummet by over 40 percent. What would you do if you realize you're losing billions of dollars in a matter of days and the reason for that is your intention to make the country's government become more efficient?
What's happening to Elon is terrible but a lot of people in America see it as karma, others see it as a coordinated attack.
Which ever way you see it, we can know for sure that his decision to step into a political role came with massive consequences.
My good Hive friend @meno shared a video yesterday talking about audience capture and what influencers go through with expressing their honest opinion.
You can get a lot of hate when you state out what's factual and what's right because some people might have an opposing subjective opinion to your opinion. Kind of the same thing going on now.
I have said this already, I'm not in full support but it doesn't mean I don't see the value in what he's trying to do.
This really isn’t the first time someone faced backlash for doing what they believed was right. History is full of people who stood up for their values and paid the price, the bitter price.
Did you know that right can become wrong in the eyes of others? Yes, it's all about position and perspective. You could be a billionaire and think to yourself, if we cut down the salary it'll lead to more money to fund other things in the country and when you make that move, anyone that's already hanging on by a thread financially is not going to like that salary cuts. FACTS lol.
Also what’s right is subjective. One person’s moral stand is another person’s betrayal. Elon most likely saw his new role as an opportunity to improve government efficiency. Clearly the decisions he made was seen by others as a conflict of interest or a billionaire psycho gaining even more power.
Many people who try to do what they consider right end up misunderstood.
Just so you know, Whistleblowers get fired too and maybe anyone reading this blog and hates Elon is not going to like my stand on this topic. I hope I don't get my own share of vandalization haha. It's just an opinion guys and I stand to be corrected but I still stand by it lol.
Also, Activists get labeled as troublemakers. Even everyday people who stand up against injustice at work or in their communities usually face bullying, exclusion or worse.
Doing the right thing doesn’t always bring immediate rewards. It can even cost you friendships, relationship or jobs. It can make you a target, a really big target.
In Elon's case, it can even lead to destruction of property and economic loss.
But the real question I have for everyone reading is, should the fear of consequences stop you?
You know that doing the right thing is risky but it still matters that the right thing is done at the end of the day. People who take a stand, whether for personal beliefs, ethics, or justice are the ones that shape the world. The cost might be high, but the impact can be much greater.
History is being written right now and since the Elon Musk story is not over, you can't say for sure that he's absolute evil lol. What if a decade later, America sees huge progress because of what Elon and Trump are doing? What then?
What will Americans say at that time?
But of course, it could also turn out differently and they just create a big mess in the future. Whichever way it goes, you can't decide now. Yes people are feeling the effect of the changes and they're feeling it in a very painful way and that's why they react like that, it's understandable.
Here's the logic, if you need to cure yourself of a disease and the doctor says, hold still for the syringe and oh it's going to hurt badly, will you hold still or say no forget it?
And if you say no forget it and the doctor calls out 5 strong nurses to hold you and force the syringe on you, will you go to human rights department with a complaint of your human rights being violated?
Oh and if you do that and the doctor goes to jail for it and you later realize you'll healed because of the syringe injection, what will you do about it?
Make it Make Sense 😎
