Hi Herbies!
Each month The Herbal Hive puts out a challenge for keen herbal folk to use as a starting point for a post. It's a great opportunity to go on a journey of discovery and to learn from one another! At the end of the month, the best post will win 20 HIVE, and all posts will be upvoted and reblogged by us throughout the month. Post beneficiaries will also be left for early birds on post reminders throughout April
For the month of April, the challenge theme is 'ROOT'.
Licorice, ashwagandwa, horseradish, licorice, marshmellow - but even carrot, parsnip, yakon - there are many medicinal plants that grow underneath the surface of the soil.
There's many things you could write about in your post/s (you can enter as many times as you like through the month), including:
- What medicinal benefit do they have - link to research
- How have you benefitted from them personally? We love a good anecdote!
- How do you grow/harvest this plant? Are other parts of the plant medicinal?
- What medicine do you make out of them? Include a recipe?
- How might you prepare it to eat?
Of course you don't need to include ALL of the above points, or any - you could choose a direction all of your own!
Don't forget to drop your link below, and use the tag #plantmedicine as your first tag. Oh, and post in the community too!
Have fun!
