I decided to paint something earlier tonight. I didn't know what to paint, so I just went with what I felt like making. And here's what I ended up with.

I call it Chaotic Beauty.
I wanted to portray something along the lines of how beauty can thrive amidst chaos.
In most cases, people want to avoid chaos as much as possible. Some even fear it... But I see it as something that can help us grow and blossom.
Whenever we face hardships in life, we're somehow given the opportunity to grow and survive. We are very adaptable and resilient. We just have to find it in us!
Now, let me show you the progress shots I took as I was creating this piece.
I prepared a watercolor paper and placed masking tape around it as a frame. Then, I sketched the subject of my painting.
I originally thought of either making a landscape painting or playing with colors and adding a silhouette of a tree afterwards.
However, as I made progress in this artwork, I changed my mind...
✨
I first worked with the background. I wanted to make it a bit colorful by adding both warm and cool tones. I wanted it to contrast, yet complement.
Then, I painted the tree. I wanted the tree to have more texture and pop, but still show simplicity and beauty. I used acrylic paint on it.
I also added some random strokes to the tree representing chaos, but also filled the main tree again with black and white.

I added my signature on the side, and it's done. Let me take off the masking tape around it and take more photos showing various angles of the artwork.
✨
In the swirl of chaos, beauty finds its way to bloom.
The end of last year was chaotic... well, it's still a bit chaotic now, but it has calmed down somehow. However, despite all the chaos, my family and I tried to look at all those experiences with a positive perspective, and we are slowly building up our lives again.
I wish to be like this tree in my painting. I want to create beauty amidst all the chaos in life!
Also, while looking at the finished artwork, I could kind of see it as an intergalactic tree. In some of the Webtoons and manga I've read recently, the concept of having a "world tree" was introduced. I find it fascinating how this tree somehow represents the order of the universe as well as the cycle of creation and destruction.
Anyway, I want to ask...
How did you feel when you saw this painting? What's your interpretation of it? Please let me know in the comments. I'm curious about how you all see it. An artwork can be seen in so many perspectives after all. Thank you so much!
I'll end this post here. Thanks a lot for dropping by, and I'll see you around! Good night from this side of the world! (^^,)/
