NATURAL PLANT TREATMENT: HELP FOR MY SON'S OAK

Hey, guys!
Today I'm sharing my new experience with you.
I've a garden, my friends here know it, but my garden isn't close to my house, I've to go on foot therer about 30 min.
But I wanted to have my own tree near my house. So when my son was about 6-7 y.o I proposed him to plant a tree that will grow together with him. He was very inspired, and we chose an oak!
I read much about meaning and power of different trees, and I liked the oak that symbolizes wisdom and inner power.
At first the tree was about 120cm high (it's a kind of low oaks, that is in the Red Book btw!).
Now the tree is higher than my son who is 140 cm high. So it grows nice, and we like to see it!
Some days ago I was upset to see that some insects were eating oak's leaves!
There were dozens of them on the upper part of the tree, and they were about to eat almost all leaves on the top!
I don't like to use chemical poisons for plants, so I was looking for some natural methods to make insects go away from our tree.
There were some mrthods, and I tried 2 of them:
  1. The first was soap. If it's good natural soap that is used for cleaning it works well against many plants diseases.

I used a sponge, soap and water
2.The second way garlic water.
I took some garlic and poured it with hot water. After some hours I splashed our oak with this garlic water.
I tried both ways - soap at first, and the next day - garlic.
My results - soap worked well, BUT there were still some insects there. MUCH less but still...
Garlic was perfect!
There are NO bugs on our oak now!!
Mission completed;)
Do you know these insects, guys?
