GREAT VICTORY DAY AND TRADITIONS

Hey, guys!
At last I'm here again! I missed you so much, but I was so busy these days that I couldn't find enough time for all my routine:(
At last I'm here to share great holiday emotions and traditions with you.
The world celebrated the Victory Day on the 9th of May. And in my country it was celebrated as well, it was the 80th Anniversary of this great holiday, and we had a really fantastic Parade where many world leaders were present.
But now I wanna show you some others shots.
We all know the 9th of May and its parades and firewerks, but my city is really unique, and we've one more holiday and event that is held ONLY here, and only once a year - A TORCH PROCESSION.
This tradition was born in Kerch many years ago, and it's still alive.
The sense of it is to honour soldiers who lost their lives during the war protecting our Motherland.
On the 8th of May Kerch people and guests of the city take torches and go along city streets to the main War monument on the Mithridate Mountain.
It happens in evening, so torch procession looks like a long fire river, and this view is amazing!
During some last years we didn't have a chance to keep on this tradition because of military actions in our country. According to safety rules we can't organise mass events anywhere now.
This year isn't the exception, so there was no common time for starting the torch procession. Moreover, we all dounted we would be able to have it, and police wouldn't stop it onn the start.
But I wanted my son to know and to see what it means and looks like.
It's Anniversary of the Victory in the war where both of my grandparents participated! They both returned alive but still the war has great meaning for all families in my country, and we all have deep respect to this day.
I wanted my son, who is 9 now, and who is grown up enough for it, can see what this traditions means for all of us.
So my dad made a self-made torch for him, and we went to the center of the city....
We really were afraid police wouldn't let us go to the Mountain with fire.
And we were sure there would be 10 people not more. Because of safety rules and restrictions.
BUT we were SO surprised to see more than 200 people there!
They all had flags of our country, the flag that symbolizes the Victory over fascism and torches of course!
There were really lots of them!
Not so much as it was before the war,but still, durting the war times it was really much!
And there were no taboos, no police, no restrictikns, all people were free to keep this great tradition on!
It was super cool feeling to be a part of this great Kerch history, to honour the memory of heroes who participated in the war and to feel free to see this tradition alive!!
My son was inspired so much!
And we all were happy going to the top of the mountain with our fire that symlozed Immortal Memory to all war heroes!
