Greetings!
It was a trip from 2nd November 2024 that i never got a chance to post, but thankfully, i am posting it today with full emotions.

It was one part of Lahore trip and is one special historical monument out of many historical places that we, class fellows, have visited.
To visit Tomb of Allama Iqbal, we walked from Dehli Gate, Lahore to Roshnai Gate. Roshnai Gate of Lahore is highly important and historical. It would be wrong that major historical and famous historical buildings and monuments are located inside this Gate. It means, if you have to see Lahore in just one short take then you should cross this gate, and you will be amazed to learn about history.

This gate, Roshnai Gate, is one of old thirteen gates of lahore and it is renovated. From it's condition, seemingly, it was fully renovated because marks of history were not visible on it. Still, it was giving historical vibes.A big wooden door, identical to old mughal times, welcomed us. I was walking along with my class friend Anas Rajpoot.

Along with Roshnai Gate, there is a big bell that is installed to show old history. In old times, it was used to make announcements.

Here i met someone very special. A father, man, human who was selling flowers but in very unique way. His dress, inspired by Mughals and giving royal vibes, attractive to every eyes. I couldn't resist myself. I went to him and seek permission to capture one selfie with me. He politely agreed to it.

Almost everyone was tired at this point. No one was willing to take few more steps. On the opposite side, i had the capacity to even cross the borders and walk beyond. From a little height, I looked around me, it was perfect leisure to eyes of me. Only history was around me, my favourite subject and city to discuss.

Allama Iqbal is the national poet of Pakistan, and he is also regarded as Muffakir-e-Pakistan (The Thinker of Pakistan) and Shair-e-Mashriq (The Poet of the East).
We all learned about his work, efforts, and contributions to Persian and Urdu poetry when we were in school.

Many school trips were there. A long queue of students was in front of me. It was almost unbearable for me to stand still under such high intensity of sunlight.

While entering through the main entrance of tomb, I looked above my head, i saw mughal inspired architectural techniques. I assume these patterns on red sand stone are inspired, somehow from Persian technique "Murqanas." My eyes also fell on fine marble lattice(Jali).

A small lantern chandelier was hanging out of floral white marble patterns, I looked at it. These patterns are somewhat different from mughal architecture. These are not found in mughal architecture. In fact, Mughals focused more on colorful, vibrant, and more geometrical patterns.

Six couplets of a ghazal are carved from Iqbal's poetical work Zabur-e-Ajam (Persian Psalms) , one persian book of Allama Iqbal I remember the school time, when we used to memorize five books by Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

I looked attentively at Tombstone of Grave because i learned about it that it was a gift from Afghanistan and Quranic verses are written on it.

Lovers of Iqbal's philosophy, poetry and thinking come here to pay visit to his Tomb. Moreover, school trips, architecture's lovers also visit this place to see the architecture and designs.
My friend praying for Iqbal's to be resting in heaven
We spent some time in Tomb of Iqbal and then we came out of tomb.
Oh, one vibrant and colorful place that i forgot to mention 😉 was these historical high houses that represents the colors and vibrancy of old times.
A scottie was parked in front of a wooden door. I looked above my head and saw jharokas, projecting wooden windows, that i love the most in old architecture.
On the opposite side of these homes, there is famous restaurant of Lahore, Havelian, i missed going over there but there's always next time to go and visit.

See you next 💫
