Can we ever live without pollution? Even when we try as humans to avoid all that can bring pollution in our areas or environments, we still keep encountering pollution from man made.

I have lived in many kinds of environments as an adult 👩🏻 and have seen how we humans keeps bringing health problems to ourselves, especially when you are surrounded by those who does not have knowledge to what pollution can do to health or they might have some little knowledge but keep exhibiting nonchalance.

In the early days of Lagos State as a big city with many population, the government was paying so much attention to carrying and disposing waste also known as refuse. Then the big government refuse trucks 🛻 goes about every conners of Lagos streets to collect waste free of charge. This means the masses are not asked to pay 💰 any dime . But as the years began to progress and the government became so greedy and corruption, they handled over this waste services to private individuals who now faced mostly the rich people environment and big estates 🏡

This is one reason why many living in the areas where these waste management individuals could not frequent suffer from foul smells because waste are sometimes left for days not being carried, especially during the rainy ☔️ season with constant rain☔️. I can tell you that this was a very big Issue where I was living before . This waste can litter the side of the street causing smells and those who saw the need not to leave theirs will pay 💰 extra cost 💲 to the cart pushers who collect refuse and dump wrongly

Then I also have noticed many who does not want to pay cart pushers burn 🔥 their waste on the street sides causing fumes of pollution and not caring. This is not healthy to the environment and to the humans, but who is to take responsibility if not the government.

And now that I have relocated to another side of Lagos State, a place with accessibilities, the waste removal was more well organized because the individual cart pushers are more around here, making cost 💲 of refuse removal less. So this means we do not have to wait for the waste trucks 🛻 to come before we remove waste. It indeed made things neater and foul smells less.

However, the issue we are facing in this new environment is noise. Noise is another issue that can hinder man because for us to look healthy, our mental state must at all times be sound. The noise we get from passing vehicles 🚗 and horn is so disturbing. And not that we are living on the road, but because my street leads to two other major estate 🏡, vehicles 🚗 are always moving causing noise even through late evening. And humans being what we are, some are posing nuisance.

Noise many will see as something not huge, but its a pollution that is so disturbing 😳 to many especially those that are sensitive to it. Am so sensitive to noise that even a noise from a moving cockroach 🪳 can woke me up. So I go to bed 🛌 when everywhere is becoming calm so I will not wake up to any noise.

The solution is that measures are been taking towards the street gates to enable everyone know of how time of opening and closing will imply to caution ⛔️ . Although many who lives around the street and comes in late will vill be given preference once the gate is closed at 11:30 pm it has been decided. And with measures in place noise into late evening has drastically been reduced.
