Barrel Aged Imperial Porter

Well, it's beer Saturday once again and, once again, I find myself at Freebridge Brewing. These guys have been brewing beer here for about 8 years and they make some good stuff.
Today I am enjoying their Coal Car Porter, a barrel aged, imperial porter 😋 Imperial beers are regular beers brewed with a slightly higher alcohol content and usually bigger, more robust flavors.
The term “imperial” traces back to the 18th century. It originated from beers brewed in England for export to Russian royalty. Brewers created these beers with higher alcohol and richer flavors to withstand long journeys, catering to the tastes of the elite.
While I was sitting there enjoying my brew I noticed a few barrels next to one of the brewing tanks...
As I was standing here looking at these barrels one of the bartenders walked by and I asked him is those were the barrels my porter was aged in. He didn't know. Then I asked if they were currently full of beer. Again he didn't know and from his answer I could tell he didn't care about the barrels, the beer, or the fucking guy asking all these questions xD
So I sat back down, finished my brew and walked around downtown for a bit.
