After the snow and reflection photography i needed to find something else to do due to a small surgery that limits my mobility for the coming weeks.
this was my view last Friday on jan 30th , laying in the recovery room .
Luckely my Daughter was able to share this game Palworld with me through the Steam family , and after a couple of days i still decided to buy the game .
The bennefit of having my own copy of the game is that now i can play together online with my daughter and son in law .
Although the game is stilll under development the quality is pretty good for the money , being used to play other openworld games like GTA , WOW and GW2 .

So far i already have spent 266 hours in the game and i'm still not at max level .
What is it i like about the game ....

The exploring of the open world , the grinding for materials to improve you character and no open world pvp as in you can actually go AFK without being molested by another player. Just make sure that no agresive pals can reach you and that you are dressed for the right tempertures because they do change in the game in some areas .

Starting the game it shows a menu of your worlds to chose from so far I've only started just one note , the 480 day count are in game days not real life 😜
The game settings i use to play , so that you know why the screenshots look like this and maybe different on your own pc .

What hardware do i use to play ?

the game instalation is 30Gb so it's not really that big compared to other games.
back to the game .
Just like in other open world games ike Guildwars 2 and World of Warcraft you will suffer with limited bag space , and not just space also weigth , on the left side you see my inventory and in the upper right corner of each icon is a number that shows you how much it weights.
While leveling up you can find all kinds of ways to improve your max weight to carry with you and also your bag space .

you will start with building your first base , by building this palbox :
Then the grinding starts finding materials to build your base and catch your pals . probably the next thing you build is a storage box where you can save things that you are no longer able to carry due to weight limitation .

And before you know it , depending on how much spare time you have to play , you can build othe nice things like the pal expedition station .
where you can send you catched pals to a dungeon and bring the good stuff home to you .

In the background you see the dungeon and the further you explore the map and fight bosses the more options you will unlock to send your pals to .

I have not unlocked all options yet still work in progress .
And before you know it your base looks like a bussy camp with pals running around to do their job for you.

You can have multiple base you can change the limit in your world settings
most people will start with a max of 4 bases and 15 pals in each base.

In the begining you won't be able to fly on a pal / mount but you will have this hangglider that you can build to move downwards slowly.
Along the way you can also improve your pals that are fighting beside you or those that you send away on missions for you.
There are several ways to do that but it does take time ....
The most used way is with this statue that you build in your base,
you upgrade you pal with Pal souls that you find along the way .
often you find them on the ground or in treasure chests .
These treasure chest come in all kinds , regular ones with no keys needed and those that require a key [ bronze, silver or gold ].
but there are also elemental chests that require a pal with that elemental power to open the chest.
For example this electricity chest requires a pal with electricity skills to open it
And once the pal has done it's trick to unlock the chest , you can open the chest .
There are also small dungeons that you can explore and find pals , but you can also grow / breed your own pals .
on a farm put a male and female pal together and wait for the results .
after that you put the eggs in the incubator and once they are completed the pals will show up in your Palbox inventory as a lvl 1 pal.

press F to accept the eggs and it will show you what you got .

And later on in the game there is also a cruel machine that will recycle these pals for parts you need .

just select from the menu the pals you want to recycle

and off they go . . . and you end up with the extra parts depending on the type of pal you recycle.

The last aspect of the game i want to mention are the invasions of your base . . .
Make sure you build your base in a spot where the enemy NPC's can't reach you to easy .
My first base wasn't really the best spot , but you can always remove it and keep the materials , my 2nd base no longer excists.
My third base is on a high cliff side so that the enemy can't just walk in .
As far as i know the invasions only happens when you are at your base
Sometimes it's just one npc and sometimes it's up to 20 of them
On the map you can see 4 of the bases i've made so far.
The yellow arrow on the map is my curent location .
Those blue wings are quick travelpoints that you can unlock to move faster back and forwards.
and when zoomed in on the map it shows you also the bosses in those area once you have explored the area.
Well that is it for now , this is how i have been killing my time mostly the last week in between the recovery naps.
All screenshots are taken by me on my pc , copyrights of the game and character lay with palworld.
