In life, there are moments when the lips won’t move, the words won’t come out, no matter how hard you try. It’s as if your soul wants to scream out, desperate to utter unheard voice, but the mouth stay sealed. The inside feels like a thunderstorm–pain and agony with confusion, with a tiny bit of hope–but the outside feels like a desert. The silence feels heavy making it hard, even, to catch your breath.
Yet, there is something beautiful, as in Rumi's words, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” Even when it feels like you are collapsing with the burden, there is always a chance for something to grow until death takes you apart. It’s okay to feel lost, just give it some time. You don’t have to solve everything in few seconds. Sometimes, you got to trust the process, all you have to do is just sit there and let the waves pass-by.
Maya Angelou would say, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Even if you can’t speak it now, give it pause as your story matters. It’s yours and it’s worth telling. The waves, the burden you fell will pass. Express yourself, tell them how much you carry, how much you are willing to fight these off. This silence won’t last forever, nothing lasts forever. Everything comes to an end. One day, you will find your voice again, your lips will start moving again and when this happen, it will be stronger and truer than before.
Until then, be kind to yourself. You are doing the best you can and that’s more than enough, because at least, you are trying.
Peace 🕊
