I wonder how people would feel about some people who are just too curious about knowing what would put them in a state of dilemma. I happened to fall into this category. The more I tried to put myself away, the more I kept pushing the act of curiosity forward.
I’m this type of person who loves doing things without the help of someone, just out of curiosity. I believed that when someone helps me, I will not do those things successfully.
I was on my way to the farm with my friend years back. Although, my parents had given me a limit on where to pass through as they knew what I was capable of doing. After agreeing with them, I proceeded to the farm with a friend who accompanied me. We had passed the major road and got to where we had to pass through a footpath. As we entered, we heard a sound just like the sound of a familiar animal. I told my friend that we should just go to the place where that animal is and check if we can catch the animal. My friend was not like me, instead he said we should keep going. I mentioned to my friend that the best is for us to observe and leave, and even we can save the animal from danger. Even with the good words I have been saying just to make my friend have a change of mind, he still insisted on not going. “We should go directly to where your parents sent us to”, he said. I was so angry at his attitude and told him, I will go and see what was happening. Although I aimed to capture the animal for soup. I was not myself after hearing the sound from the bush.
Even though the path the sound was coming from was a thick bush, I still wanted to see what was in there just to clear my mind. My friend was just standing waiting for me to proceed in our journey as I was the only one who knows the direction to where we were going to. My mind was just crossed towards the unwanted sound I was hearing. The sound was still coming after every one minute or two. I told my friend that I have to go and see to what was happening. “Since you are so curious, I can’t follow you to your mind, I will be here waiting for the outcome of your curious mind”, he said. I was happy that he had agreed to my concern. I then headed to the place where the unwanted sound was coming from. As I was going, I hear my friend says, “don’t say I did not warn you as anything that happened to you will be your concern but not mine”. I ignored his words and proceeded as I knew deep in me that I must come back with the animal.

Sharath GAs I drew closer, I saw from a distance the position of the bush that was shaking as my mind was as sweet as sugar even though I had not seen what was in there. I knew deep in me that I had caught an animal that will be used for soup. As I drew closer to the scene, I raised the cutlass with me wanted to strike the animal that I had not even seen physically, before I knew it, I landed myself in a trap. The trap caught my left leg and I shouted for help. My voice was so loud that everyone passing by would hear. My friend, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found. I called his name thrice but could not come to rescue me. I thought he was angry that I left, but then he was even not within the reach of my voice, I guessed. I began to bleed. After few minutes, I saw the face of that animal that got caught by a trap. It was a massive snake. My curiosity had landed me into double problem. My friend later came around, may be after observing that I had wasted too many times in here. He saw me in an unwanted situation and immediately ran to rescue me. “I told you not to come in here, but your curiosity wouldn’t allow you to listen to my voice”, he said. Maybe my curiosity was louder than his voice, I concluded within me.
After saving me, he asked me; “where is the animal you came here for? You can see that instead of catching the animal, the animal caught you”, he said. I raised my finger and pointed to the animal. He looked to the direction of the animal and held my hands. We took heel as I jumped with one leg. When we got home, my parents nearly finished me with words before treating me.
