Today I want to share with you the tenth birthday of my little dog Bills Alejandro Martinez. He is the first dog in my life that has lasted so many years with me. Previously, the one that had lasted the longest was a dog named Princes, who lived for five years.
But this little life companion and I have been having adventures for ten years now. It's nice to remember his birthday, because it's basically the same length of time as the house we live in. He has been with me taking care of the house and taking care of me all this time.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes los cumpleaños número diez de mi perrito Bills Alejandro Martínez. Les cuento que es el primer perro en mi vida que ha durado tantos años conmigo. Antes, la que más me había durado fue una perrita llamada Princes, que vivió cinco años.
Pero este compañerito de vida y yo ya llevamos diez años de aventuras. Es bonito recordar su cumpleaños, porque básicamente tiene el mismo tiempo que la casa donde vivimos. Él ha estado conmigo cuidando la casa y cuidándome a mí durante todo este tiempo
I still remember when I was very small. The things we have lived have been very nice. The promises I made to him, I have also kept them... without realizing it. I promised to take him to the river in our own car, and I did! I promised him that he would have a sister.... and now he has three! I went overboard.

Aún recuerdo cuando era muy pequeño. Las cosas que hemos vivido han sido muy lindas. Las promesas que le hice, también se las he cumplido... sin darme cuenta. Le prometí llevarlo al río en nuestro propio auto, ¡y así fue! Le prometí que tendría una hermana... ¡y ahora tiene tres! Me pasé.
I promised him time, and now I think he is tired of seeing me every day. Many things that, without realizing it, I was able to fulfill. Every day I try to make this doggy life more and more wonderful: taking him for walks, talking to him nicely, and giving him food, which is what he likes the most.... well, that along with going for a walk, hahaha!

Le prometí tiempo, y ahora creo que está cansado de verme todos los días. Muchas cosas que, sin darme cuenta, le pude cumplir. Cada día trato de hacerle esta vida perruna más y más maravillosa: sacándolo a pasear, hablándole bonito, y dándole comida, que es lo que más le gusta... bueno, eso junto con salir a caminar, ¡jajaja!
On his birthday I decided to buy them - all of them, of course - raw meaty bones, for them to eat and be entertained. He is very happy, and I am happy watching them enjoy themselves. They spent the whole day eating those bones... nothing else existed. It's the first time I've given them bones like that, but it won't be the last, I can see he was fascinated!

En su día de cumpleaños decidí comprarles —a todos, claro— huesos carnosos crudos, para que comieran y se entretuvieran. Él es muy feliz, y yo soy feliz viéndolos disfrutar. Pasaron todo el día comiendo esos huesos... no existía nada más. Es la primera vez que les doy huesos así, pero no será la última, ¡veo que le fascinó!
I think Bills is very strong despite his age and size. He runs like a puppy on the court and is always looking for plays. That is, when he is away from home. At home, he's a very serious gentleman. He is the macho and protective one, and he must be like that: he is at his job.

Creo que Bills es muy fuerte a pesar de su edad y tamaño. Corre como un cachorro en la cancha y siempre busca juego. Eso sí, cuando está fuera de casa. En casa, es un señor muy serio. Es el macho y protector, y debe ser así: está en su trabajo.
