Today I want to talk about a topic related to my dog Shakira. What happens is that my siblings, I don't know why, think that, since I don't have children, I should help my nephews, who are mostly grown up.
About a month ago, a sister said something I didn't like about my dog, something like: "She gives everything to that dog", as if an animal was more important than a person.

Hoy quiero hablar sobre un tema relacionado con mi perra Shakira. Lo que pasa es que mis hermanos, no sé por qué, piensan que, como yo no tengo hijos, debo ayudar a mis sobrinos, los cuales en su gran mayoría ya son mayores de edad.
Hace como un mes, una hermana dijo algo que no me gustó sobre mi perra, algo así como: "Todo se lo da a esa perra", como si un animal fuera más importante que una persona.
I don't really know what this means for each person. What I do know is that, to me, my dogs are important. I adore them. They are the ones who are always with me through thick and thin. I know they are not people, but they are my dogs, and I value them deeply.
You have no idea how much words hurt sometimes. In the end, they always seem to want you to feel bad just for being you. There are many people who live by being who they are not, just to appear to be what others expect of them.

En realidad, no sé qué signifique esto para cada persona. Lo que sí sé es que, para mí, mis perros son importantes. Los adoro. Son los que siempre están conmigo en las buenas y en las malas. Sé que no son personas, pero son mis perritos, y los valoro profundamente.
No tienen idea de cuánto duelen, a veces, las palabras. Al final, pareciera que siempre quieren que te sientas mal solo por ser tú. Hay muchas personas que viven siendo quienes no son, solo por aparentar lo que los demás esperan de ellas.
And yes, sadly nowadays people are often used and objects are loved, but we must remember something important: dogs are not objects. They are living beings full of love, loyalty and companionship. They are part of the family and have immense value for those of us who truly love them.

Y sí, tristemente hoy en día muchas veces las personas son usadas y los objetos son amados, pero hay que recordar algo importante: los perros no son objetos. Son seres vivos llenos de amor, lealtad y compañía. Son parte de la familia y tienen un valor inmenso para quienes los amamos de verdad.
I love Shakira, and I will always give her the best because she deserves it with all my being. Besides, look at her! She's beautiful, she has that special demeanor when she poses. These pics were taken a few days ago, when I took her to where she is spoiled.
I uploaded one of those pictures to my status, with the phrase: "The one who spends all my salary", and that makes me happy. Hahaha. Yes, I know that things should be said up front and not through statuses, but aha... I wanted to do it that way.

Yo amo a Shakira, y siempre le daré lo mejor porque se lo merece con todo mi ser. ¡Aparte, mírenla! Es hermosa, tiene ese porte tan especial al posar. Estas foticos fueron tomadas hace unos días, cuando la llevé donde me la consienten.
Subí una de esas fotos a mi estado, con la frase: "La que se gasta todo mi sueldo", y eso me hace feliz. Jajaja. Sí, sé que las cosas se deben decir de frente y no por estados, pero ajá... quería hacerlo así.
