Hello everyone!
I have already talked a couple of times lately concerning side hustles. After all, there was one side hustle which looks like I will make some money with it. It was mystery shopping. I had to ask for quotes for a car to a couple of garages. Their purpose was to see if their employees invited me over to the garage / what their first email looked like. It definitely was quite intriguing to compare the different ways of communication. I will go deeper on the topic later on in this post. Yesterday was the latest day to do the evals so I did the latest evaluations as well. Afterwards I claimed my rewards as well. Although they needed some tax information as well so I wonder if I will have to pay taxes on the payment or not. I have qsked it anyway to the company organising the research. I'll see what their answer is.
First a bit about the different ways the carsalesmen contact me. The ones who were giving information immediately, they knew the type of car I am interested in, like the general offer and the delivery time were in my eyes the best salesmen. If you add to that some genuine warmth and humanity, yes, than you'll definitely sell me something faster. There were some salesmen as well which were rather short in their answers, lacking both info and warmth, won't work. Hence the thought: they don't want me as a customer. Others tried to call me once and afterwards they never took the initiative to reach out. I never understand such salesmen. You get a lead and still don't put in any effort to convince that lead to make a purchase, strange.
Anothr important question is if it was worth it or not. You can earn 50bucks for one hour or for ten hours of work. Ofcourse this would depend on each ones personal situation, probably affected by the country someone lives in. I think I have put in about 5 hours of work to earn 50bucks. Definitely not a high paying side hustle, minimum (student) wages are higher in my country. Another aspect are the taxes, if it will be taxed, than it's definitely not worth it for me. If not, I would do it again. Although it's not that much, it's great because it's flexible. You can contact the garages whenever it suits you.
My conclusion is thus that it was a great experience to compare the different ways of communication of the salesmen. I always like to try out new stuff so I am glad I tried out mystery shopping as well. If I will do it again will depend on the texes. Even without taxes the compensation isn't that high related to the amount of work you have to put in, so if there will be taxes as well, it won't be worth it for me. For those of you searching a side hustle, definitely try out mystery shopping!
