Etherium experienced a massive 90% drop in value as the network was stressed with an intense volume of sellers much like bitcoin's, inducing instability. Though there is a large push into the crypto universe there are also temporarily overwhelming bursts of profit taking. If i had bought sub 100 dollars id be wanting to skim the principle off to, given a 3x or greater return in only a few months.
