After we visited the Church of Transfiguration, my friend's cousin told us that we should stop at the Kaamulan Park and Zoo, which is only a few meters away from our destination. Having him as our tour guide makes our route easier. So, without a second thought, we then headed to our next destination.
When visiting Bukidnon, Philippines, don't forget to check out their provincial capital, which is Malaybalay City, for they have a lot to offer. While traveling to the city, you can witness the alluring pine trees growing around the area, which is why the place has its cold temperature.

Kaamulan History

Kaamulan is derived from a tribal word, "amul," which means to gather. That is why people from different places will show respect and gather as one during the Kaamulan Festival. This Kaamulan Park was initiated in recognition of the seven tribes found in the region (Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon, and Umayamnon) in the preservation of their own culture.

Reaching our destination, the place is surrounded by a thick forest. This Kaamulan Park is a public park with a mini zoo, a playground, which is best for families, friends, kids, and the elderly. It's one of the best places to enjoy nature and the wild at the same time.
Because our kids and the elderly are very eager to visit the mini zoo, we then check out their entrance fee and the schedule. Luckily, when we arrived, the mini zoo was open. The mini zoo is open only from Tuesday to Sunday, and is operated by the provincial government of Bukidnon. The entrance fee is only Php 20.00 for 15 years old and above, Php 5.00 for 6 to 14 years old, and a free entrance fee for 5 years old and below.
We all went inside the zoo with enthusiasm and excitement to witness what it could offer us. Inside the mini zoo, it has a lot of species of birds with different colors, which are placed in a large cage.
Continuing to explore the place, they also have large-sized snakes which are being placed in different rooms to avoid contact with one another.
That cute little koala
little deer
little monkey
They also have peacocks, monkeys, and deer.
While walking in this vast and greenery place, we reached this large open area where the ostrich is placed. This is my first time seeing an ostrich. Kids were very happy and enjoyed taking pictures of the ostrich.
Beside is another fence that cages the lion and the tiger. It's also my first time seeing a lion and a tiger, which amazes me so much.
Crossing towards their mini bridge is another set of animals. You can see the colorful fish in the pond and a big crocodile crawling inside its cage.
Wooh! Look how big the crocodile is. Be careful not to touch the animals around the zoo for safety.
After an hour of walking from place to place to witness the wildlife and the beautiful surroundings of this mini zoo, we were very exhausted. Gladly, this place is surrounded by trees where everything around is so relaxing. Walking inside this public park is a haven for everyone. It can relieve your stress and give you the peace of mind needed.
After visiting the mini zoo, Kaamulan Park will give you a total refreshment. The tall pine trees behind, the green grasses, and the tribe's houses are what you have here.
The tall pine trees around that give shade to the ground make this place worth staying longer. Seems like the trees were calling and giving us a warm welcome. Many families and young people were gathered around to have a refreshing break after a day of work.
To my mind, I find this place relaxing and comfortable to stay in. With the green grass around me, I can just sit wherever I want. You will not get bored staying with this magical view.
After a while, I was amazed by the tribe's houses at the back. I wanted to get in, but I am afraid they will not allow us. So, we decided to take pictures outside.
If you are bringing your family and friends with you, do not worry, with the vast grass around, you can have your picnics here. Surely you will not get bored with nature. This place is perfect for nature lovers who want to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. Aside from picnics, you can also ride in their horseback riding activity. They will provide you with their beautiful horses.
We have a great time roaming around the area. Time spent here is never a waste. We gain a lot of insights from the place. The fresh air we breathe gives us a soothing feeling.
If you are planning to visit Bukidnon, don't miss this out. For sure, it would be great to visit places like this and be immersed in their culture.
