I guess one can safely assume that my reading lull is over, or at least on the road to being over.
After all, I just finished a 233 paged novel in two days. A far cry of my prime reading feats a few months ago but it's progress still.
The book I just finished is the third in the Lockwood Series and I have to say, this is the best still.
Lockwood and Co: The Hollow Boy 🎭
Plot
Lucy has begun embracing her powers and trying to discover just how far she can go. In the midst of this London is rocked by the surge of ghostly activity in Chelsea and Scotland yard is left baffled by it.
It's up to Lockwood and Co to help - even if it's unwanted. The trio teenage ghost hunters have been in prickly situations before, but none quite as ghastly as this.
The book starts with a compelling paragraph of one of their jobs. Jonathan's ability to input humor, wit and a sense of urgency in his action scenes is one of the things that keep me hooked.
And in this book there were loads of action scenes!!
Plus the skull's conversations and sarcastic dialogue were just an added bit that made every chapter funnier.
Still, after two or three hauntings, more than a few arguments, and about three days worth of action, we come up on the main scene and you the reader are left breathless and with anticipation of what'll come next.
And after all the previous events read, after the chases, stabs, bombs, roars, protests, etc.
One would never guess that at the center would be department store.
Still, this department store proved itself in the role of the final boss.
I've read a lot of thrillers and I'd say that this was the most thrilled I've been in a long long while.
My eyes were glued to every word as I read, not wanting to miss any detail and feeling my heart rate rise as the thrill continued.
The hauntings were something that were well written and the ghost as described gives you chills that you can just imagine what the characters in the book would have felt when facing it.
I wish I could post excerpts but I would hate to spoil that bit, you'd just have to read through it yourself.
All in all, Jonathan has seemed to make a decision - much to my delight that even no matter how serious the book had been and what the crew has been through, George would still be his amusing, impeccably witty and generous with an insult self.
Like who would make a scuffle sound just as interesting as George?😭😭
He's a gem of this franchise for real.
In Summary..
The Hollow Boy is a freaking 10 stars from me. I recommend it for all you thriller bookies, this is one story that'll really give you chills 🥶.

Después de todo, acabo de terminar una novela de 233 páginas en dos días. Muy lejos de mis mejores momentos de lectura hace unos meses, pero aun así es un progreso.
El libro que acabo de terminar es el tercero de la serie Lockwood y debo decir que sigue siendo el mejor.

Sinopsis
Lucy ha comenzado a aceptar sus poderes e intenta descubrir hasta dónde puede llegar. En medio de esto, Londres se ve sacudido por la oleada de actividad fantasmal en Chelsea y Scotland Yard está desconcertado.
Depende de Lockwood and Co ayudar, incluso si no es deseado. El trío de cazadores de fantasmas adolescentes ya se ha encontrado en situaciones espinosas, pero ninguna tan espantosa como esta.
El libro comienza con un párrafo cautivador sobre uno de sus trabajos. La capacidad de Jonathan para incorporar humor, ingenio y sentido de urgencia a sus escenas de acción es una de las cosas que me enganchan.
¡Y en este libro había muchísimas escenas de acción!
Además, las conversaciones de la calavera y los diálogos sarcásticos eran un detalle adicional que hacía cada capítulo más divertido.
Aun así, tras dos o tres apariciones fantasmales, varias discusiones y unos tres días de acción, llegamos a la escena principal y el lector se queda sin aliento y con la expectativa de lo que vendrá después.
Y después de todos los eventos previos, tras las persecuciones, los apuñalamientos, las bombas, los rugidos, las protestas, etc., nadie imaginaría que en el centro estarían los grandes almacenes.
Aun así, estos grandes almacenes demostraron su valía como jefe final.
He leído muchos thrillers y diría que este ha sido el más emocionante que he sentido en mucho tiempo.
Tenía los ojos pegados a cada palabra mientras leía, sin querer perderme ningún detalle y sintiendo cómo se me aceleraba el corazón a medida que la emoción continuaba.
Las apariciones estaban muy bien escritas y el fantasma, tal como se describe, te da escalofríos que puedes imaginar lo que habrían sentido los personajes del libro al enfrentarse a él. Ojalá pudiera publicar extractos, pero no me gustaría spoilear esa parte; tendrías que leerlo tú mismo.
En resumen, Jonathan parece haber tomado una decisión; para mi alegría, incluso sin importar lo serio que haya sido el libro y lo que haya pasado el equipo, George seguiría siendo divertido, impecablemente ingenioso y generoso, con un toque de insulto.
¿Quién haría que una pelea sonara tan interesante como George? 😭😭
Es una joya de la franquicia, sin duda.
En resumen...
The Hollow Boy le doy 10 estrellas. Se la recomiendo a todos los amantes de los thrillers; esta historia les pondrá los pelos de punta. 🥶
