Hey Hivers,
I would like to take this chance to introduce myself and to become an active part of your community.I am a total novice to Splinterlands, crypto,and to be honest this is my very 1st blog iv ever wrote on ANY forum or social media, so please bear with me if its a little rough.
So hear goes..
My name is Stephen and i live in a small town about 15 miles from Edinburgh, Scotland.
I have recently decided to have what i call a life change,(my wife calls it a mid life crisis), and i decided to leave my job and retrain for a different career.
Iv been home studying and have recently passed UK Financial Regulations exam with honour grade and shortly taking a another exam to become a Mortgage Broker.Hopefully after doing a couple of years experiance for a firm i want to become an independent broker.
I have a passion for food and travelling , iv been to many countries around the world and i base most of holiday locations on learning how to cook dishes native to that culture.
Due to the pandemic thats been on hold for the last couple of years but hopefully things will get more back to normal and i can visit Hong Kong later this year or next.
Took my wife to Milan Italy, just because she said wants "pizza for dinner,but a good 1".
So now for my entrance into the crypto universe..
I have recently opened a Coinbase account and have dabbled in some trades to try and familiarise myself with how it works and learn how the whole decentralised network is becoming a force for the future of the way we use money and transactions.
I research ways to get involved with crypto without putting alot of my own money at risk and one of the things that i come across was the Brave Browser.This,as im sure you know, has Brave Ads that pay you to view and that is where i saw an ad for Splinterlands.
One quick google later and im watching YT vids,(shoutout to clove71 and WTP-Gaming),about this card game that pays YOU to play! Needless to say i soon created an account and although i was a bit skeptical at first its turned out to be completely
true. My thinking was to join to get free crypto but after playing for a few days thats now changed into playing Splinterlands as a great challenging game and the crypto is a bonus!
What also i was surprised by was the community surrounding the game,ofcourse i would need help learning the game and i found Splintertalks. Iv read alot of feeds and blogs and i know the help i need is out there, so now is the time to join you Guys and be part of the Splinterlands/Hive world and help spread the word to make this community bigger,badder,better and i already know a few people i will bring on board.
So Whats Next
I am still trying to find my feet within the game and how to use Hive regarding staking/liquidity/NFTs and which tokens i need to use for RC etc,but im sure joining you all is a step in the right direction.
As i use the forum i will follow you guys and comment if i can.
As i said at the beginning this is my 1st attempt at posting on a forum but i will be active and try to create content that is worth your time,or even just to keep you updated on anything interesting going on in my small part of the world.
