Muchos saludos a toda esta gran comunidad de mùsicos. He tenido que estar vvatrias semanas sin publicar por problemas "tècnicos", lo bueno es que en ese intervalo de tiempo logrè adquirir la cuerda que le faltaba a la guitarra y ya estoy tocando lcon las seis cuerdas ¡Còmo me hacìan falta! Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien y que la buena mùsica sea la nota fundamental en sus vidas.

Hoy deseo compartir con ustedes mi versiòn de la canciòn "La Bikina" que conocì en voz del vocalista venezolano Gualberto Ibarreto, quien se dio a conocer con su vestimenta sencilla: una franela de rayas, un sombrero de cogollo y una voz potente (un "vozarròn") capaz de dulcificar tambièn su expresiòn. La mùsica folklòrica venezolana tiene en èl uno de sus emblemàticos exponentes.
Con respecto a La Bikina, este tema es creaciòn del compositor mexicano Rubèn Fuentes - el mismo de la inmortal "Cien años" - quien, en 1964, nos regalò esta bella canciòn. En Venezuela se popularizò en la voz de Gualberto Ibarreto en el año 1976, y en el año 2000 fue grabada y lanzada al mercado en la voz de Luis Miguel.
El personaje central de La Bikina es una dama enigmàtica, orgullosa, que se pasea por la playa y rechaza con desdèn a cuanto admirador se le acerca hasta qe la flecha Cupido por alguien que despuès se aleja y ella se queda soñando con èl y - supongo yo - esperando su regreso. Tiene un "final abierto" que puede dar lugar a muchas conjeturas y permite que cada uno pueda hacer mentalente el final que le parezca màs adecuado para esta historia.
Tenìa yo 16 años cuando La Bikina se puso de moda y me fascinò tanto su letra como su melodìa. Es una de estas canciones que en su momento fuero "moda" , fueron "nuevas" pero de las que no nos podemos desprender porqe deseamos siempre escucharls y e interpretarlas "a nuestro modo" cada vez que tenemos oportunidad.
Como nota anedcdòtica dirè que siempre la he cantado como "Por la playa camina La Bikina", en la web encontrè una letra que dice "Por la calle camina la Bikina" y otra dice "Solitaria camina La Bikina". Me gusta màs la versiòn de la playa :)

Today I wish to share with you my version of the song "La Bikina" that I learned through the voice of the Venezuelan vocalist Gualberto Ibarreto, who became known with his simple attire: a striped shirt, a straw hat and a powerful voice (a "big voice") capable of also softening his expression. Venezuelan folk music has in him one of its emblematic exponents. Regarding La Bikina, this song was created by Mexican composer Ruben Fuentes - the same one of the immortal "Cien años" - who, in 1964, gave us this beautiful song. In Venezuela it became popular in 1976 with the voice of Gualberto Ibarreto, and in 2000 it was recorded and released in the market with the voice of Luis Miguel.

The central character of La Bikina is an enigmatic, proud lady who walks along the beach and disdainfully rejects every admirer who approaches her until Cupid shoots her with an arrow, who then walks away and she stays dreaming of him and - I suppose - waiting for his return. It has an "open ending" that can give rise to many conjectures and allows each one to mentally create the ending that seems most appropriate to this story.
I was 16 years old when La Bikina became fashionable and I was fascinated by both its lyrics and its melody. It is one of those songs that were "fashionable" at the time, were "new" but that we cannot get rid of because we always want to listen to them and interpret them "in our own way" every time we have the opportunity

As an anecdote, I'll say that I've always sung it as "Por la playa caminando La Bikina" (The Bikini Walks Along the Beach). On the web I found lyrics that say "Por la calle caminando la Bikina" (The Bikini Walks Along the Street) and another that says "Solitaria caminando La Bikina" (The Bikina Walks Alone). I like the beach version better :)
