On the next Monday, May 12, 2025, the Philippine general election will be held. It is our opportunity to select who will be our next leaders through voting and have a say on the direction of our country for the next few years. When we cast our vote, we exercise our right to choose the people who will be our representative in the government and would make the policies that affects our life and community.
Earlier today, I had a conversation with my coworker about if I already had an idea who will I vote in this election and while I do not specifically say who my choices are, I told my coworker that I had them pretty much laid out for quite a while. On the other hand, my coworker still remains in limbo as he doesn't know the names of the people running in the election aside from the popular ones but as we know, popularity does not equal credibility. And with that conversation, I told him that he could get an electric copy of the through the COMELEC website. I do not know but it seems like this information was not that widely known given that we have lots of avenues to share this information such as through social media platforms.
So I decided to make this post to help fellow voters to have a more informed decision when they vote. Having an idea on who to vote also will make voting faster specially with how hot it can be on precincts as we are now in summer season and having an idea on how the voting form looks like makes voters less likely to make mistake that could invalidate their vote specially for first time voters.
To get a copy of the voters template first go to the COMELEC website at
https://comelec.gov.ph/?r=home. On the
Elections Menu, click on the second option in the list which is the
2025 National and Local Elections.
This will bring you to the Ballot Face Templates page where you will select which region you will be voting as well as if you were voting oversees.
For the sake of this post, I choose the Ilocos Norte under Region I to get a copy of the voters template for the City of Batac.
Depending on the browser you use it may directly download the PDF file or transfer you to the PDF page which you can save later. And with that, you can finally have a look on the electronic copy of the voters template to see all the candidates and maybe do some research on them to make a more informed choice.
