The #Ecency platform provides its users with free Perks by simply using any of their frontends (
main,
legacy, and
alpha). The Perks that an Ecency user can claim depends on how active they are on the platform, and can be redeemed using
Ecency Points which the user gets for most actions done on any Ecency frontend.
The Perks
As of now, there are only 2 choices on the
Perks page, which are the following:
- Content promotion
- Account boosting
Content promotion
Selected content may be promoted on the Ecency platform to help increase views.
- Any post, as well as any comment, may be selected for promotion.
- Any content, not only of the Ecency user who is logged in, may be promoted.
- Content that is already promoted by any user cannot be promoted until the existing promotion ends. It can be promoted again only when the current promotion expires.
- Promoted content appears on feeds on the homepage, which are the Followed feed by the user as well as the the Trending, the Hot, the New (recent posts), Controversial, Rising, and Promoted (not surprisingly) feeds. Promoted content does not appear when viewing a Hive user's profile (such as blog, post, and comment feeds, like on Ecency team posts for example).
- There are several plans, each with its own duration and required amount of Ecency Points, to choose from.
Account boosting
This is a straightforward way to rent a 200+ Hive Power delegation from the official Ecency Hive account using Ecency Points.
Other
- There used to be a "Content Boosting" feature where any "high quality" post or comment will get curated by the Ecency curation team by using Ecency Points (up to $1.67 author rewards for 500 Points), but it got removed because some Hive users strongly discouraged the practice even if the Ecency team donates the proceeds of sale of Ecency Points to the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF).
