And people came from far away to just meet each other.
We have been connected with each other since 1994, in my post graduation group, and this meet was possible after few years as most people are staying outside and were willing to come. Our group is quite active and few of us stay nearby and meet in regular basis, whenever there is an opportunity. But for this function, we decided to meet at Chausathi Yogini Temple, Hirapur located in the outskirt of the city, so that people coming from outside can not only reach the spot easily, but visit this historic first Chausathi Yogini Temple from 9th Century AD., one of the four surviving Chausathi Yogini shrines in India. And we encourage everyone to bring their family as well, so that they can enjoy the day with us and our kids know each other extending this cherished bond built on unwavering support, shared history, and unconditional love.
They have room facilities and we pre-booked that as its very necessary for family members.
On arrival both veg as well as non-veg starters were served hot.
And then we barely realized how time flew so fast - that's what happens when you are in your closest friend group.
Even though we are in our fifties, we go back in time, when with our friends - a safe space where we can be our true self, having witnessed multiple versions of each other through life's changes.
And our family members have been quite well connected with each other over these years, to spend the time in comfort and joy.
After visiting the temple, they came back and danced to some nice tunes in loud music.
And a good meet cannot end without good food - the mutton being the special item.
An enduring, decades-long connection that thrives regardless of how often you see each other.
And kudos to our friend @akshyaya who single handed arranged everything - a big applause for a flawless event with some delicious food.
We were able to capture everyone in one frame with the help of the tripod that I carried.
Time to say goodbye as some had flights and train to board - with a promise to meet again soon.
And those who stay nearby were not feeling like going back - so we had some last minute fun.
One person, who made everything possible - without such talented people, a GT cannot sustain this long.
It took quite a bit of time for me to create this golden memoir to share in our group, here is a video compilation that captures all the photos :
And how can we miss some nice dance steps to be remembered forever!! See them here :
