MAY DAY

By @samueloption5/1/2018poetry

"May Day!"

A day of nightmare
When termites cease work
To reflect on the absurdism
Of daily labour and monthly pay
That don't add up.

May Day!

A day of nightmare
When the termites line up
To march in solidarity to suffering,
The anguish of the retirees,
The frustration of the teachers
And the despair of the pensioners.

May Day!

It's a daymare
When the floating dreams
Of a new minimum wage crash
Into the sea of governmental negligence
And systemic corruption oiled
By the ineptitude of the evil service agents
In the garbs of politicians whose pockets
Are more important than the projects.

May Day!

It's a daymare for termites
Whose arrears will come
At the end of their careers

May Day!

Double up termites!
More work for less pay

May Day!

Protect the Queen with your life!
Remember that monster,
Unemployment,
Out there beyond the terra firma
Of this termitarium!

May Day!

Double up termites!
Sing to May morning
Sing to the god of May
Left Right! Left Right!
Forwaaaaaaaaaaard
March!

It's May Day!
