SUICIDE
The increasing rate of suicide and attempted suicides globally is alarming. All over the world, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death and the 2nd leading cause of youth’s death between the ages of 15 and 29. According to the world health organization’s suicide data, about 800,000 people die due to suicide every year.
That is, one person dies every 40 seconds. People commit suicide for various reasons such as bereavement, frustration, despair, depression, a feeling of worthlessness and hopelessness, etc. it is true that challenges are inevitable in life and they can sometimes overwhelm a person.
However, beneath those experiences are Satan’s manipulation and attempts to draw one away from God so he can destroy his soul. He makes a person see suicide as a shortcut to end his misery but in reality, it is an expressway to eternal damnation.
Those who yield to Satan’s manipulations by committing suicide experience double tragedy. They sin against God by taking their own lives here on earth, thereby cutting short any hope of a better future, and then still go to hell.
The word of God forbids and condemns murder in all forms including suicide. You are not permitted to take your life. In exodus 20:13, the Lords commands, “thou shall not kill”. Moreover, your life is not actually yours; it is Gods. He made you in his image and breathed life upon you.
You are his temple and you have no right to take your life. He alone has the unquestionable power to take your life anytime he wishes. Why should you die before your time? No matter what you are going through, there is hope for you. Don’t give up! Let no situation or challenge ever make you contemplate taking your life.
Suicide is not an option for you. Rather than seeking to take your life, seek God who gave you life and formed you for his glory. Life has much offer if you seek God and his will for your life. Believe all His promise in scriptures and depend on Him with a strong faith. So don’t give up your life because there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord. God bless you.
